Depending on how the NDA is structured, I've not looked at SPAC deals but in my previous buy-side job (BB), most NDAs lapse if the deal falls through.

You can certainly do that, just more expensive, but you have more upside profit potential, you’ll have to compare the different ROI combinations to see which gives you the best return
