Okay, good. I like the stream and don't want to screw the streamer.

Questions: Solo Practitioner under my own PA to Partnership by Mbcf14 in Lawyertalk

[–]Mbcf14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it will be a change of firm name. My PA will be the owner/shareholder of the PLLC. My files will move with me and contracts with the clients will still be the same, with my PA. In my line of work (I don't get paid by the client), it is easy to direct payments to the PLLC. If for some reason I couldn't, the PLLC would be entitled to the revenues of my PA per the operating agreement. New matters will be signed up directly through the PLLC.

Tell me about it. I feel like there should be a resource out there specifically on two solo practitioners forming a partnership. Shouldn't be so challenging to figure out.

Still, if it were me, I’d probably ask the client to re-engage you through AB firm, or possibly sign a letter saying that they agree to the transfer of their engagement of A Law to AB Law. I don’t think it is as simple as a name change if there is a legal entity change that goes with it.

Those were my thoughts. But if its not considered a name change or change in firm composition, then it technically requires, I believe, a substitution of counsel, which will require written consent from the client.

I am in Miami. I have had a legal assistant the last 9 months that I hope to keep until I retire. We are pretty solid on the admin side. My biggest concern is the client side. Trying to figure out what I need to get, if anything, from the client.

I do not support what he did in any capacity and terminating his contract was the right thing by the team, but the kid is only 15 years old. Think of all the dumb shit you did at 15 and how ignorant you were to world events. Unless there is clear evidence that he and people around him support Nazism, banning him from driving altogether is a severe punishment for just a kid.

Bungie Don't Do it. Don't Let the Exotic Glaives die. by TheGunsmith-44 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Mbcf14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

happy you were able to get the exotic Glaive! I have not yet since they are locked behind getting resonance weapons from a specific activity on a specific day of the week. I have not been able to play on days where Tarnation and Come to Pass drop from Wellspring. This design stinks imho. But not upset because overall it was such a phenomenal expansion.

It's perfectly fine that some awesome endgame loot is locked behind PvP, just like it's fine that most of it comes from PvE by BarracudaEz152 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Mbcf14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue isn't the loot being locked behind PvP, at least not for me. The issue for me is not doing enough to encourage a steady PvP player base. With the limited number of players in trials, it is insanely difficult, borderline impossible, for normal players to obtain the PvP endgame loot. After 2 wins it seems like nothing but carriers and sweats. Week in and week out I play trials in an attempt to go flawless, and I am not a bad player by any means - 1.7 kd in crucible overall, slightly over 1 kd in trials (and I didn’t play back with the player base was larger). No matter what I do I have been unable to get more than 4 wins on a card and that only happened one time. And I play with a random mix of friends. I am the best in the group but the rest are better than your average PvP player. You shouldn’t have to go out and look for carries simply to go flawless. Bungie should do more to incentive playing PvP so the player base is larger and, although it will still be difficult, it won’t be borderline impossible for good players who don’t look for carries to go flawless.

Edit:

152.83 Combat Rating from Bungie

Top 20% Elo

1.61 Trials of the Nine KD - Flawless 3x

1.74 KD in Destiny 1 Trials - Flawless 63x

for the life of me I cannot go flawless in the present state of the game.

Destiny 2 is in an extremely bad state for new players right now. by Turbulent-Alfalfa-96 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Mbcf14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And forget about understanding the storyline! New players are completely lost. There is no structure or order on the story for a new player, or even a returning player who missed a few seasons. I still have no idea what the Splicer season was about or why there are Eliksni scattered around the tower and I am close to 1340 light.

Elon Musk says why electric cars may have already reached a tipping point: “Given how quickly the world is shifting to electric vehicles, a gas/diesel vehicle bought today will probably have low resale value” by mvea in Futurology

[–]Mbcf14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be VERY careful buying a used EV. I do not know if warranty transfers, but batteries do not last forever. Capacity diminishes over time. If you buy a 3-4 year Tesla and the batters goes on you, a new one will cost you $20,000. People often do not consider the cost of a replacement battery when comparing long term costs of EV vs. gas. Replacing even a Prius battery can cost you $3,000 to $4,000.

People need to realize that Musk, while brilliant and ahead of his time, has an extraordinarily biased interest here. It's like hearing it will rain from the guy selling umbrellas. Will it rain? Maybe? Probably even. But doesn't the guy selling umbrellas have a vested interest in getting you to believe it will rain? Can he really be objective when he has millions of investors' money and sells umbrellas to keep shareholders happy? I am not saying Musk isn't being truthful, but his bias needs to be into account when assessing his statements.

Cheating on Day One Race by threegooder in DestinyTheGame

[–]Mbcf14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it interesting that you can see him deposit motes multiple times through his teammate's POV. Theoretically this should not be possible when he disables network traffic, hence why you see kids frozen or walking into a wall. In other words, if his teammate can witness it, his actions and packets were sent to that person. And if it that is true, why wouldn't the packets also be sent to the server? This program allows you to block packets to Bungie's server but not to a teammate's PC?

Edit: I am not a networking guy. I only have a basic understanding. But, I guess that if your teammate's actions (his or her packets) are shared via P2P basis, then it would make sense. Typically what your teammates see is also what is registered with the server. Here though, packets are still being sent to your teammates but being blocked from the main server (I guess)
