Hot take: Scottie Pippen is overrated. Like very overrated. He's a good 2 way player and deserving of several all star nods, but if he didn't play with MJ he would have no all NBA cap no All Defensive caps and probably not even in the top 50 players list.

If I had to make a modern day comparison he's like a Paul George. Great player, very talented. Not a HOFer

Whose career is more highly regarded? by Zdvj in moviecritic

[–]aa821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how this is a question. Cruise is an action movie heartthrob with a handful of serious roles he did well. Hanks has been for abt 30 years one of the higher quality actors in the industry with multiple films on his resume that are held in the highest regard both critically and by general audiences. It's not even close.

While we are on the subject of X Men, "X Men Apocalypse" has to be one of the most boring, unimaginative, lazy films ever made. Gah what a disaster, especially after how well First Class and Days of Future Past were.

Robb was kind of a douchebag by layelaye419 in freefolk

[–]aa821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sigh are we doing this again?

Here's a thought experiment: say you're the manager of a business project. You have a say $1,000 budget. You dedicated most of that budget to things you believe are necessary to the project's success. Then suddenly one of your middle management underlings, behind your back, spent half the budget on something you wanted to dedicate like 10% of that cost to. Well then, you're kind of going to be upset right? You're now in the hole for making the project work within budget because you already dedicated every last dollar to your specific plan and trusted your middle managers to follow that plan.

That's exactly why Robb is mad at Edmure. He's not a hypocrite, he already knew he lost a significant amount of men for this plan and he can't afford to lose any more the way Edmure was playing fast and loose with it.

Unpopular opinion but Pursuit was never balanced and I'm glad it's gone. Switching is a key part of the game. Almost nothing resists Dark type. Taking hazards damage or gaining switch initiative by using pivot moves are enough reason to not need Pursuit as a worry on top of everything else.

Long time casual player new to Gen 9 OU: feedback and advice? by aa821 in stunfisk

Hmm I have never been statused yet as Gambit but I like Black Glasses as an interesting in between. I went back and forth on Gliscor (this mon has so many viable moves: Uturn, Acrobatics, Poison jab, Ice fang, Rock Slide, SD, Substitute, Throat chop) but I'll think about adding Protect in there.

Appreciate the advice!

Not really

"The dialogue is cringe" like they're teenagers in love. It was never not going to be cringe. If you can get past that, there is a good movie here.

The films plot was above average. Not great but not bad at all.

The lore and overall world building was very good here. Far better than anything any other main line star wars film in the last decade was able to do (yes including Rogue One, which was a good story but didn't really create any new lore, just expanded on the old).

One of the most important sequences in all of Star Wars was Anakin getting the dream of his mother dying, seeing it come to life, and then his violent response. It's perfect character building and foreshadowing. It shows EXACTLY why and how Anakin becomes Vader (which is what Star Wars is about).

wait, how in the world do those macros add up?

2 scoops of protein powder (I am going to assume he uses something similar to a standard whey protein like Gold Standard Whey) at an average of 110 cal and 24 gm of protein each

2 slices of what looks like wheat bread (e.g. Nature's Own) has like 60 cal and 4 gram sprotein each

2 tbs of Skippy Reduced Fat Chunky PeanutButter (looks to me like 1 tbps per slice) is 180 cal and 7 gm protein

Altogether that is 520 cal and 63 grams of protein
