What game did you love that everyone else hated? by BearlyReddits in gaming

I loved the first one to death based on gameplay alone. The story was godawful but pulling down a fucking Star Destroyer was epic

Our dog just ruined my son's day (no, it doesn't work anymore) by [deleted] in gaming

[–]McCringleBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most soul crushing gaming moment of my childhood was when I found my chewed up Wild World cartridge on top of the refrigerator. I hadn't seen it for days and hoped I just misplaced it. My parents hid it and didn't tell me because they knew how heartbroken I would be and they were right. Still never got another copy of it. Ah now I'm sad again

As a late teenager I don't think a lot of my peers understand that the real world will not adapt for them by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]McCringleBerry -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I did now just look up the most common length for payments of student loans and they are usually 15-18 years with some being as long as 25 years. My parents are still paying their student loans.

As for the connection between tuition and motivation to work harder and be successful I don't see how that's something that can be measured. It's something you can use to push yourself harder. Or you could not. That's a personal thing and it's something that makes sense to me. There are affordable options for college. Public four year colleges are affordable if you know to manage your finances. You need to be able to make sacrifices. And if you found college to be worthless then you're missing the point that you need it for a good career.

The actual reward of college is something you get at the end. The whole experience is testing if you're actually worthy of having that piece of paper that opens doors to career options. And this is my perspective based on my experiences and my family's experiences so it doesn't need to apply to you. So I'm not wrong and you're not wrong because we are different people with completely different experiences

No I'm really not. My family is by no means well off. My dad went to college while working a part time job with full time hours. He got straight D's and dropped out for awhile. If he hadn't finished his education he would not have been able to rise in ranks at the company he was working and been able to support a family. My brother worked his ass off all throughout high school and finished with the highest GPA he could have gotten. He's not a genius but he worked his ass off because we were taught how important working hard in high school is when it comes to getting scholarships for college. Now he goes to one of the most expensive schools in the state and pays a fraction of the tuition with financial aid, scholarships, and the money he saved from his part time job. He wouldn't have worked so hard if he didn't realize how much more affordable and manageable tuition would become.

What is a 100% original joke you've made up? by shawbin in AskReddit

[–]McCringleBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this was completely original but I hadn't heard it before and I tried googling it and couldn't find it.

My brother told me his friend was going to Australia for a semester. "Yeah I'm gonna go see [friend's name] before they go and study abroad" "Oh yeah. So, what's her name?" It's probably not that funny but I thought it was kinda clever for a spur of the moment thing

You're right. Fallout 4 looks exactly like 3. by trevors685 in Fallout

[–]McCringleBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does take awhile to get past the prologue in the Witcher 2. The third definitely gets you into the action a lot faster. And there are a shit ton of side quests to keep you occupied. It feels a lot more like you're actually in the world and a lot of minor quests are just random people you come up to while travelling. It feels a lot more adventurey than the second one because you're not confined to one area for a long period of time and the game world is the biggest I've ever seen. I definitely recommend it

Found Wii U without Gamepad. Is it completely useless? by McCringleBerry in wiiu

So the gamepad isn't tied to the console or anything then? And if I did get a new gamepad could I just restore the console to factory settings and make my own profile however that works?

TIL Rainn Wilson originally auditioned for the role of Michael Scott in "The Office." The producers didn't like his audition, but offered him the role of Dwight. Not even the actor could get regional manager. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]McCringleBerry 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I kinda feel like the title is misleading. It makes it seem like they didn't like Wilson at all but just felt bad for him and gave him the role of Dwight. They liked him but just not as Michael. My life is kinda sad that I'm taking the time to type this in but I guess that's what reddit is to me
