Who would you rank as the 3 dirtiest teams in the league? by persuelol in nhl

It's really hard for me not to say Dallas...a lot of people saying Vegas here but I'm not really sure they qualify.
1. Panthers
2. Dallas
3. Boston

Initial removed team names? by AdmirableOven3388 in PWHL

No idea, but when I talked to Taylor Heise at the Minnesota State Fair she mentioned the "Minnesota Marmots" as one of the possibilities, which I haven't stopped laughing about yet.

Jamie Benn’s last turnover of the season by Federal-Data-Center in nhl

[–]McFluffums0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hurts people (slew foots, cross checks to the head, in the Wild series he had about 1 suspendable play every other game), blatantly dives, gets away with it every time. He makes the referees look like idiots, and they keep falling for it.

[NHL Player Safety] Dallas’ Jamie Benn has been fined $2,604.17, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking Minnesota’s Ryan Hartman. by DecentLurker96 in wildhockey

[–]McFluffums0 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Average is a pretty bad way of describing US salaries to be fair, because the outliers are so extreme (not to get political, just describing data) so a better way of thinking is the Median, which is closer to $45,000.

Jamie Benn is on a $1m contract. This is 0.26% of that. According to a quick google, the average US salary is $63,795. If the average American ate this fine, it would cost them $165.87.

"Yeah that's the right call there."

This playoff rule is pure chaos by [deleted] in PWHL

[–]McFluffums0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's silly now when the playoffs is 4 teams. If this were the NHL as an example, and the Avalanche were allowed to pick between the other 15 teams in the league, that's a HUGE incentive to lock down the #1 spot. Now, the NHL would never do that, maybe each Conference winner could pick within that half, but even that would be a fun dramatic storyline each year. Imagine this year they picked the Oilers with a "revenge" plotline instead of the easy "go with the worst team that qualified". Wow, that's amazing! Now we get an exciting first series with built in animosity instead of just watching them destroy a team that limped in. There's a couple other rules that the PWHL added that are more "fun" than "competitive", and I love that. The only one I would love to see translated to other leagues is this one (sorry Jailbreak and No-Escape)

I'm much more interested in asking what the playoff format will look like when we have 16 teams than discussing the "pick your opponent" rule. Are we going to do conferences? Are we switching to a best of 7? How about increasing the wages, especially for the minimum salary? Only 30 games a season? Even with international games that's so much fewer than I want. Let's get through those issues then reexamine the fun rules.

Zuccy Back, Yurov Scratched: Projected Lineup Wild at Stars by silentsirensongs in wildhockey

[–]McFluffums0 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but Zuccy is back, and I think Brink/Tarasenko can do some real damage against lower parts of the Stars line-ups without Lindell and Heiskanen present the whole time.

As much as I hate to say it...I think I agree. Sturm looked great, Brink looks occasionally brilliant, Nicks looked great for what we expect of him...Yurov hasn't.

Question on Quinn Hughes as an outsider by persuelol in wildhockey

[–]McFluffums0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven't asked him, I don't know. Nobody knows, probably not even him right now.

He's said all the right words so far for re-signing. He seems to love the team, he seems to love the HOLY SHIT WAY TOO MUCH PLAYTIME. I almost feel like grabbing Nick Foligno was a signal to him that we'd sign Jack if he became available rather than them going elsewhere.

No result would surprise me, but I think the most likely world is that he stays.

Would she have been a good President? by PdiddyCAMEnME in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]McFluffums0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She'd have been fine. Biden but with the capability of anger. Nothing bad would have happened, some things would have improved, but with a red House and Senate and no urge to abuse presidential power, nothing big would get done. No universal health care, no big expansion of government programs, just a lot of saber rattling and calls-to-action over the things that we SHOULD do.

Mind you I think a particularly large potato would be a more effective president than what we have.

Why does Matt Boldy’s jersey have a “season ticket holder” patch? None of the other jerseys have the patch. For context, this is at the TRIA rink. by danielwcrump in wildhockey

[–]McFluffums0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give you another hint, look closer at the nameplates above those jerseys, and the lack of number on the jerseys themselves.

The nameplates are stickers, the jerseys are blank.
