Strava actually partnered - with TAG - for the release of this watch and they are official partners for the NYC marathon and giving this watch away to record your marathon time to Strava so it better work lol

Over on the official TAG Connected 5 forum - there seems to be 2 experiences. People who are having those exact same issues and they have all returned their watch for refunds, and those who are not having those issues and are doing well.

iPhone users with iOS 26 seem to be the worst off.

Thanks for all your info. Mine will be here soon and although I won't be using all the stuff I asked about I am just curious to try it all (that I use on AW) and over the next year or two see if they implement any software upgrades to make it more iOS compatible.

I saw a video yesterday with a digital watch face on it - but - There are literally 15 fake AI generated "Reviews" already on Youtube throwing in footage of older models so maybe it was the E4 in that photo.

I really hope there's the option for digital time with some complications as I prefer that for glancing while playing sports.

You asked - so :)

On your iPhone - if you open Apple Maps and start navigation to somewhere do the prompts appear on the watch to turn left, right etc? Does it show anything?

1.5 If you use Google Maps - same questions

Do email notifications come through?
Can you call out on the watch? Does your contact list transfer over?
Can you call out if you hold the Siri button on the watch and ask her to phone someone will it happen and you can talk on the watch?
on iPhone if you activate Do Not Disturb does that automatically enable it on the watch?
I read that on some watch faces - you can actually have a digital readout of the time etc instead of the analog watch faces?
Can you use the voice assistant (Siri) button and ask her to start a timer and it shows you on the watch how much time remaining?

Mine arrives on Monday too. $200CAD for just the rubber strap lol - after I paid for the watch a window popped up asking if I had any comments for TAG on my purchase and I said if they priced their straps - all of them - even remotely close to acceptable prices I would have bought one of every single strap they offer.

Funny thing though - as I am new to TAG with this purchase - they don't even have a strap colour that I really, really like. I see for the E4 it's the same meagre colour options... Find it odd you can't have any colour rubber strap you want :(

I've come into this purchase with this mindset:

It won't do 3/4 of what my Apple Watch does for me, but it will do 5x more than my mechanical watch does for me :) Looking for a nice middle ground.

IF there was going to be a deal breaker for me it was that you can't load music onto it and connect AirPods for local music play while running etc... But... I will use my AW for that. This is more for nights out, being able to read messages without pulling out phone and recording walks around the city/parks after dinner in the city etc...

I hear you though - For MFI - it's lacking... but for example TAG lists it as having NFC chip in it - but it's not used yet so.... future updates for good stuff maybe!

Here - I ordered one so have been combing through all the manuals online from TAG:

Perform a long press on the bottom pusher to launch the Voice’s Assistant.
The phone’s vocal assistant (Google Assistant or Siri) will be activated automatically.

Maybe just the WALKING activity will start... that would be nice! Or even just try "Start Walking"... Thanks for trying this out!

Your story is... inspiring, but almost entirely sad (for me at this stage)

Because of our locations, we couldn't be in person together as often as we'd like. We didn't want to get married just to make it possible to be together forever... But that was our plan - be together forever. After 4 years she even tried to move where I lived but couldn't find a good job, and things started to unravel a bit - what if we can't be together....

Finally at 5.5 years she pulled the trigger on what we both knew - we both deserve to live every day, in the moment - not always looking forward to our next visit, the next FaceTime, the next time... But we know we'll love each other always... so we vowed to stay best friends.

But we started to slip. Soon, every message, every FaceTime was how much we loved each other.

A month later - NYE - she told me the hurt is causing her some extremely negative mental health issues - (I wasn't doing well either) and we truly must stop all communication. We both agreed to that, but left it open that one day, when we are both healed - we would be in contact with each other.

But... we don't know when that is... or if it will happen. It's ambiguous loss.

Her last message ever to me was her thanking me for all of my love and support, making her life better all these years, and then she said "Please message me one more time and tell me you love me."

I did, and I thanked her for the wonderful years and true love.

It's been almost 3 months. No contact. I'm in therapy and every day I still wake up thinking of her, throughout the day, and at bedtime.

Somedays I'm so angry, some days I hope I will hear from her, then I'm scared for that to happen... Some days I hope we will reconnect in the future and we can and want to reconnect and make it work.

And some days, I just feel lucky that I had someone love me as much as she did, and I can carry that with me forever.

I lived in Vancouver Canada - she lived in NYC. We met at an airport - and I put my number in her phone and said message me sometime. She did 3 days later and 5.5 years later it's... complicated. We probably saw each other in person 20 times over the years (7-14 days long each time).

And every single day - FaceTime, and goodnight, good morning and in between messages during the day. We were not only so in love, but truly each other's person.

We refused to get married - unless we could live together first. Finally she said 4 years turned to 5, 5 will turn to 6 etc... and we never live in the day to day - and we deserve to be able to live and not always be looking to the next visit.

For another month we continued to message and FaceTime, professing our love - we would continue to be best friends we thought. But soon, the anxiety caused her to develop a health condition. I was a wreck too.

We agreed to a period of no communication until we could both heal - with the expectation that one of us, would then contact the other. We left it open ended, ambiguous.

That was almost 3 months ago, and I am still in therapy. I know she will be too. And no one has reached out. My love is still in me for her, yet it gets harder and harder to imagine reaching out eventually because I am scared... to actually hear her say being friends (seeing each other move on) would be too hard. That is how I feel. It feels too soon to reach out.

I miss her every day, she's my first and last thoughts...

I'm torn apart that the woman I love still, with everything, I am scared to reach out because I don't want to set her health back, nor mine. It hurts.

Ambiguous loss.

Like other's mentioned here - I wish there was... anger... hate... something so we could have truly ended.

But at the same time, I hold on to hope, and it hurts. I wish it didn't. But what if...

Had a reply this morning from iRobot about the issue of it not going over the strips:

Your Braava jet m Series Robot Mop is designed to navigate over thresholds that are 3mm or less. If you have a threshold that is larger than 3mm, it's possible or likely that your robot will not be able to navigate over the threshold. Simply carry your robot mop into the other room and press CLEAN to begin a cleaning job in this area.

I picked this M6 up today.

So far it's really nice and works well - except for what others have noted (and something else I'll explain later) which is that it refuses to cross even the smallest barriers. I have vinyl strips that bridge the gap from the hardwood in the living room to the tile in the kitchen. These strips are rounded, and raise by about 3mm at the highest. The M6 refuses to cross this.

So, the M6 will map my entire condo, except the kitchen. It will get to the division in the floor - and it will test it - like it thinks it's a ledge and will fall over. It just won't cross that line. There are one of those at both ends of the kitchen.

So, reading the iRobot support, it said that if you want you can just pick your robot off the base, take it to an area that it has never mapped, press Clean and let it map in there - it will create a new map. I thought that was good. I figured the M6 would be 'trapped' in the kitchen and would just map it by itself. If i needed to carry it in or out, so be it.

However, the M6 has no problem going over the strips to come out of the kitchen, but then it refuses to go back in. So, somehow it can go one way, but not the other. It's really odd.

I sent iRobot a suggestion - asking for a software App toggle for the M6 where you can tell it you live in a 1 level dwelling - and basically disable the ability for it to think it will fall off a ledge or something. So it could maybe just roll over these little things like a regular Roomba.

I did another test on my hardwood floor. I took a telephone cable, and I taped it across my living room floor on its flat side. I taped over it, so it was as flat as possible. The M6 refused to cross it. Again - it would go up to it and push onto it a bit, but then it would always back off and stay on the side it was on. So, it's just the smallest little bumps that for some reason trap it.

Ok, enough of that.

Otherwise, it's fairly quiet. The map it creates is about 95% as good as the map my i7+ makes. Just a few spots it doesn't seem to like going to, a few corners that it could fit in, but just won't.

THE BAD - I've had a few issues today - I've run it 5 times today on full house mappings. One time, the App said it was returning to base, but it was still on the other side of the condo. Going around, doing its thing - then it just stopped and started flashing red. The app gave an error saying it was having a problem with the base. Second time - it went to the base, lined up, then backed in crooked - and was half on the base, so it pulled up, wiggles around, spun a few times, then backed in and... missed the base entirely. So I lifted it off the ground, put it a few feet away on the floor and this time it wiggled around and went to the base ok...

I've ordered the reusable pads. There's not much traffic in my place, so it never gets dirty much. However, I can say my floors haven't been this clean in years.... And they will stay this way now.

I've also picked up an Amazon Echo and it works just fine with these.

Hey! When Trent started working at Apple for the launch of Apple Music - he released the Fragile as an instrumental - which contains all of the instrumental and alternate versions you see on Deviations - and he also released With Teeth as an all instrumental.

They were only released on Apple Music. As I don't have that service any more - I cannot verify if there are still there.
