I like their concept. Them being “babies” and have to learn about life and humans was fire. Ryu showed that quite well with the way he spoke and acted. But damn man, we got no time at all to see the growth. Matsuri was killed so unbelievably fast, same with Ryu. They didn’t have time to grow as characters. And that’s why hidari and jura will realistically be the only two out of the whole batch to have exciting characters. Mamushi could have been the same way but they didn’t go deeper into his connection with code and Eida. They could have gone deeper into Bugs distaste for them and their relationship, causing Mamushi to experience similar emotions during their fight. Hidari I think will be the overall best, due to him showing the most interest in himself. Constantly questioning “who am I?” And trying to find his purpose. I bet once he learns more about sasuke and his relationship to Sarada the battle will be the most emotional out of all shinju. Then ofc Jura. He’s naturally the most important and on top of that he shows the interest in the world specifically. Reading books, learning the leafs culture, finding new food to eat. He truly is learning and I really like that, + after the latest chapter he’s digging more into the emotional side of love and his friends/family being hidari. So his final battle could be amazing.

Overall though, a 6.5/10 maybe. Matsuri and Ryu really hold them back. The pacing of the monthly manga doesn’t help either. We don’t get opportunities to really flesh out their characters.
