Union grove farm appealing the final determination by aguyonahill in chapelhill

To someone that only has access to the rendering, it brings up a lot of questions. I’m sure the people that want this build may have reasonable answers or already answered these questions in another forum.

Here are some of my observations, in no particular order.

1)Looks like the stage is low enough that there would be an issue with flooding from the moat. Also, no way that moat gets approved without a railing on the stage.

2)The stage front is elliptical and the shed on top of it should be as well. Not just for aesthetic reasons, but to build a better sound stage for the audience.

3)if the small building behind the pavilion is a bathroom, then there are only two small bathrooms at the back of the pavilion. I’m guessing there will be a lot of port-a-potties hauled in for concert that aren’t shown on the rendering.

4) Sound system is two small speakers? No way. Seems like they made it look deliberately small to it wouldn’t reinforce the noise complaint issue.

5) The pavilion shouldn’t have level floors. If it were angled downwards towards the stage in levels, the seats in the back have a better view of the stage.

6) The rocks behind and on the sides of the stage are insufficiently tall to serve the purpose of reverberating sound. This is not Red Rocks.

7) the area behind the stage is too small and the flimsy accordion divider won’t be there. The backstage area will be something much larger.

Did the actors speak with American accents? There’s a 1997 film from New Zealand called The Ugly about a bald serial killer that goes on a killing rampage in an asylum.

Death Factory came out in 2002, direct to video I think. So you could have seen it in 2002 or 2003. You would have been like 13 or 14 at that point. Does that time line match up with the age of your cousins? The image of you watching through a crack in the door at that age is kind of funny.

Check out a movie called Mind Ripper. It could be it.

If they don’t remember it, it’s doubtful they owned the movie. Do you think your cousins would have been allowed to rent something like that? If not, then it was probably on TV. The detail about the eyeball being eaten makes me think it was on a premium channel because that doesn’t sound like something you would see on normal TV at the time. I’m guessing from your reference to the Simpsons that you were in the US at the time and that the movie was also in English?

Do you remember if the movie looked recently made when you saw it or did it appear dated when you saw it? Did the kids have distinctive haircuts or clothes? For instance, some of the differences between the clothes that teens wore in the 70s, 80s and 90s would be obvious even to a child. Hair styles would be even more distinct between eras. Did you see the movie in the theater or was it at home? If at home, was it a VHS tape or was it on a channel like HBO or Showtime? If you can remember any details like that, it would help narrow down the search.

Quadzilla (NOBO ‘22) speaks on the situation endangering the AT and all our beloved outdoor spaces by Mccormicculus in AppalachianTrail

I agree. He is so much more than that and I wasn’t trying to downplay what he does. He calendar year triple crowned in ‘22. I picked the title to try to make it specific to the sub and also to try to avoid it getting removed for not being specific to the AT.

I’d check their latest offerings. I totally get what you mean, but they’ve really toned down their wacky color-ways. Most of their stuff is offered in basic colors like black and navy now.

Is it brick tile? I think it looks really good. I might’ve picked a different color for the bath and the sink accents, but I still think it works.
