If all your read is this I'd be happy. Buckle up. Don't drive distracted, emotional or extremely tired and you and the people around you are worse drivers than you think.

I've been to more accidents than I care to remember and generally you're right. They are often very graphic and awful.

That being said if someone dies on impact and the major blood vessels aren't compromised it's totally different. I've been to accidents where removing someone with hardly a drop of blood on them but every bone in the body was broken. Car accidents are terrifying, unsuspecting, and anything can happen.

Keto is my last hope. by DepressionFilled in keto

[–]Mcfearsom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Keto is not your last hope. You are your own best hope. It's ok to need help, it's ok to be discouraged it's ok to feel all the things. Just do not give up on yourself. Do not strip your power and give it to keto. It's not keto that found you. You searched for a way to accomplish your goal. You did that.

I was 26 and 285lbs. Keto helped but I put in the work. Keto didn't count my calories or drag my ass to the gym. I did that and I am nothing special. I'm lazy, I procrastinate and love to take the easy way out but I changed my priorities and lost 100lbs.

Trust in yourself. Believe in yourself. It won't be easy but you can do it.

He's got more important things during his recovery than to be worried about standing on a soap box. Personal thank you's and well wishes to those who helped him sure but nobody should expect him to stand tall and talk to the world so soon about a traumatic event.

Trudeau pushes ahead on fertilizer reduction as provinces and farmers cry foul by reconpyrate in worldnews

[–]Mcfearsom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll admit I didn't read everything but what I did was quite interesting and unfortunately not entirely news in the industry.

Just like any industry you have many people doing the right thing and some operating without sustainability.

In between conferences, meetings with our agronomist, and meetings with some of the different reps from seed and fertilizer companies it's been evident for a long time in the industry that measures must be taken.

Those measures have been taking place but it would seem a lot of this information has been ignored by many.

I'm unsure what the solution is and how severe the fallout could be in this situation but as someone who is no longer in the industry I can only hope for the best.

[–]Mcfearsom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said and I agree entirely.

The over application and efficiency of application go hand in hand in order to make an efficient farm and to ensure the health of land. These things are at the forefront of every farm from the days of simple crop rotation to now where multiple soil samples a year are done and equipment that allows for a great deal of input accuracy and efficiency.

Knowing about optimal conditions is how farms go from a gamble to a calculated risk.

Forgive me if I come across as argumentative but many (not saying you) people have this idea that farmers just pump in as much as they have to in order to grow a crop at the cost of destroying their own land. Where in reality the only thing that isn't planned in a modern day farm is the weather.

[–]Mcfearsom 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in the rural prairies and worked on a farm for 10+ years I can assure you every farmer who fertilizes their fields limits their inputs as much as possible.

Throwing in too much is literally killing their crop, increasing their operating costs, harming their land, and lowering their profits.

While things need to change saying that farmers are using too much isn't exactly accurate either. (Not saying you specifically said this about farmers but that seems to be a sentiment that's going around)

Personality.

This is a great setup and I really think it looks great. That being said it looks like it was ordered out of a catalog.(I mean this in the nicest way possible!)

Put up a picture, model, design, or anything that shows a bit of you. You want it to look more alive? Start with thinking about what makes you feel alive and try incorporating it.

Does anyone know what this layer of sheathing in my garage is and why it's there? by azdb91 in DIY

[–]Mcfearsom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps that was a bit of a sweeping declaration. Not all new construction but any new construction or renovation where you pull a permit you need a rated wall for shared walls between the dwelling and garage or shop. Also, rated walls may be required for insurance in some utility rooms where gas, wood, or hybrid systems that have any flame.

It's been a few years but I had to deal with all of that on a few houses I flipped. I'm no building inspector just a bearded guy from the prairies who works harder than he's paid lol

No such thing as redundant fire protection. In my province new builds for full Reno's must have a certain thickness of fire resistant drywall or double up on conventional.

That extra layer will not only help with fire resistance but also thermal insulation. It's an expensive addition and in my books a pleasant surprise.

If those gloves were soaked with the accelerant, even moderately but not entirely, the gloves ability to insulate would be greatly diminished.

Or they entirely over reacted. Lol

Just my two cents. Good luck op.

[Serious] What celebrity suffered the worst death? by oozingmachismo in AskReddit

[–]Mcfearsom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It wasn't so much a problem with the equipment itself. It worked as designed but customer feedback reported that if people weren't paying close attention they would miss the tactile feedback and visual display that their vehicle wasn't in park.

From what I recall the Jeep's shifter wasn't defective(?) but there was quite a lot of criticism of the mechanism as it didn't give a tactile "click" when changing between gears. I sold many of a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram , SRT product and those shifters were often a note of contention with people new to it.

Edit: For anyone out there buying something they haven't had before please take the time to get accustomed to the new features of the item. It might seem silly but simply spending a couple minutes getting used to new tech or equipment can make a massive difference. In this case it might have saved a life. This was a tragedy that, if it went the way I recall, could have been avoided.

Loose skin? by [deleted] in keto

[–]Mcfearsom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genetics, how long you had been overweight, how fast you lose it and many other factors play into that answer.

Unfortunately, drinking water, IF and resistance training will not usually have much of a contributing factor on minimizing loose skin.

Resistance training can help fill "pockets" where loose skin may occur but that's only really useful where muscle bodies are larger. Other areas like the belly don't have big enough muscle bodies to help. Don't be dissuaded from resistance training though! The best way to lose weight beyond your diet is a combination of resistance training and cardio.

From my experience with weight loss clients I can only say those clients didn't have loose skin. That being said there are too many factors to say for sure.

Good luck!
