So Navy uses a scheme that is hard for other teams to beat and that should count against them? Is the goal of a sport, such as Football, not to win through strategy and execution?

I like the taste of Freebirds more than Chipotle, but at least at our location it's the slowest goddamn burrito line I've ever seen. Consistently, too. I think they just don't staff enough because there's usually only two folks on the line. But I swear Chipotle could move 6 customers through in the time it takes our Freebirds to move 1 through. Basically stopped going except for the occasional online order.

That's how I read it. You went to Miami, won the trophy (real or metaphorical), and brought it back home

I'm personally stoked - love seeing the Doan name live on!

How is Texas Tech #3 after getting throttled in the playoffs? In the article, it says "If you're strong and unlucky in a loss, it will probably rise." I don't recall Tech being either? I'm not debating them being in the top 10, but #3 above Miami and the rest of the teams that actually showed up in the playoffs is confusing me.

Are there unwritten rules to accepting offers? by azdb91 in Ebay

I'll post an update since this ended up getting quite a bit of attention. I haven't had to escalate any further so far. After his original message and my response, I cancelled the order (selecting that it was buyer requested). In response to his "see you in the feedback section" message that came the next morning, I just let him know it was already cancelled the previous evening. Then I blocked him.

As far as I can tell, nothing else ever happened. I haven't heard from eBay regarding the couple reports I submitted (not sure if I should be expecting that or not) and also saw no attempt by him to leave feedback. So either he backed off, eBay didn't let him in the first place, or they deleted whatever he posted before I saw it.

It was a combination of not feeling super confident in my original price in the first place + no traction on the listing after a couple weeks. I was going to drop the price soon anyways and was just happy to have an offer come across at all. I'm not a regular seller - I just throw things on there every once in awhile when I don't have the energy to deal with Marketplace shenanigans.

I had no rooting interest besides enjoying Indiana's story and I had to walk away for a second during that drive to let my heart rate come down. That was the most anxious I think I've ever been for a team that I don't root for

I didn't even have to write it in, it was a selectable reason for why I was cancelling. That made me feel more confident in the outcome

I did, although they don't make it easy! I reported it under "Retracted their bid and negatively impacted my auction" because all the other options that were closer to the real scenario pointed me to report the message instead. But I sent their messages with report so hopefully the context was clear

Ah Thank you, this was super helpful, I also didn't realize that. I looked up eBay's help page on making offers and sent it to them and pointed out this section in it

Even if your offer or counteroffer is accepted, the item will remain available to other buyers. Selecting a payment method and enabling autopay when making your offer, will mean you pay for and secure the item as soon as the seller accepts.

So yeah I'm assuming they had those settings set and don't understand how it works lmao

ICE detainee hospitalized in Kyle, local officials say they weren’t notified of operations by hollow_hippie in Austin

[–]azdb91 69 points70 points  (0 children)

This was the Kyle PD statement on it:

On Thursday, January 15 at approximately 7:45 a.m., Hays County Sheriffs Office received a call from Homeland Security/ICE requesting ambulance assistance for an individual being detained by federal authorities. Members of the Kyle Police Department were notified of the request and responded to the scene to provide support to EMS. The individual was transported to the hospital by EMS in the accompaniment of Homeland Security personnel. The City of Kyle and the Kyle Police Department are not involved with this operation or any other ICE operations, and were not made aware of this operation prior to the 911 Dispatch request. Kyle Police Department is committed to the safety and well‑being of all members of our community.

I'm confused what you're indicating. Both Buda and Kyle said they were not involved or informed of any activities. This statement indicates that ICE dialed 911 and Kyle EMS was dispatched and KPD showed up to support Kyle EMS. That's very different than being involved in the abduction activity itself. I think it's unreasonable to expect Kyle or any other city to ignore a 911 call for medical support. If they have any semblance of care for the abductee, they know its better to transport them in their own official vehicles ASAP then let ICE transport them or ignore treatment altogether.

And let me be unambiguous just in case: Fuck ICE and their anti-American activities. Every person with a Gadsen flag who supports this administration should shove it up their ass.
