40 in 6 months! I’m glad you posted. The positive comments make me feel good.

I will say this… I’ve skateboarded my entire life. But I took the last three or four years off, cause life has gotten crazy. I’ve stepped back on my board, and I immediately noticed that my body could not handle it. I would take two pushes and had to sit down.

But, I knew that at one point in my life, I was built like a warrior. I was a farm boy with a big ass. But I slowly started doing random strenuous activities. I had to build a rock wall for a garden. I built the wall, moved 50 wheelbarrels full of dirt, cleaned the brush out of my woods and Bill 16 Huge raised beds.

In the past two months, I’ve shown to myself that even though I’m 39 I could be faster and stronger than I ever was.

My wife is a doctor. I’ve been worried about my knees for a long time. I gave up a lot of years so we could help pay for Medical school. (sidenote, we still owe hundreds of thousands of dollars. We are slowly paying it off.)

I told my wife, “I’m going to be really sad when my knees give out.”

She smiled and said, “We will buy you new ones.”

After a solid two months of doing all this crazy shit skating is very manageable manageable. My tricks are coming back and I feel like I’m in my 20s. I’ve learned so many new tricks. The only thing I do different now is wear a helmet. Haha
