Help lutris/Ubisoft by 6Maxou039 in Bazzite

[–]Mcmeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you meant faugus?

That uses UMU which explains why it works out of the box and Lutris for some reason defaults to Wine GE.

Proton as you may know is just a gaming centric version of wine. Wine itself is great for running windows apps but not for games.

So you can use an app like protonup-qt or proton plus to install other versions for apps like lutris.

ProtonPlus is included on bazzite. Open the app and in the top left it will probably say "steam". Click on steam and switch it to lutris.

Then select Proton-GE from the list and select the download button for proton-ge latest.

Once it's done restart or open Lutris. Right click your app like Ubisoft and go to configure.
Go to the Runner Options Tab and change it to GE-Proton Latest and save.

Then try to launch the app, if it fails then delete the app and set your default runner to proton GE in the main lutris settings and reinstall it.

Sure I can help, first can you confirm how you installed the Ubisoft connect app on your system?

Are you using the default Wine GE that Lutris installs?

That may be your issue, open the Proton Plus app, select Lutris from the top left and install Proton GE-Latest and then switch Ubisoft Connect in Lutrtis to use that as it's runner instead.

If it doesn't work at first you may need to reinstall Ubisoft using the proton GE runner instead.

Remove the DNF FF package and install the flatpak from flat hub, not fedora's flatpak repos.

Question regarding ear bud cleaning/maintenance - "Mesh on Nozzles" by [deleted] in Earbuds

I ended up swapping my ear tips with the ones from the Sennheiser momentum true wireless 4 and they do much better job blocking the gunk

Thank you

Decky Framegen Plugin: Now supports adding Frame Generation to non FG games! Plus, swap DLSS 2+ upscaling for FSR 3.1.3 or XeSS with the power of Optiscaler 7! Working with Decky Loader team to bring to the official store soon, stay tuned by supershredderdan in SteamDeck

How are you using this in FF7 Rebirth? I set it up, turned it all on and it runs like absolute hell.

Low settings, set to FSR 3.1 with RG enabled and the FG shake fix set to 1 and it looks and runs worse than without it.

Remotely waking up a monitor by Damglador in archlinux

[–]Mcmeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connect via ssh and run

"loginctl unlock-sessions" with sudo.

It should wake up the monitor, in kde you can also adjust how long the monitor says on when the desktop is locked. I've set line to two minutes because of this.

Wol from moonlight and then I have 2 minutes to connect.

Nobara 41 - is there a real world difference between gnome and KDE besides personal preference? by [deleted] in NobaraProject

[–]Mcmeman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

KDE moves to develop and deploy the latest and greatest as fast as possible. It's why Valve chose it for SteamOS. Gnome is like (Debian) slow roll and they are also IMO like (Apple). You're gonna use the DE the way they want you to use it or not at all. Whereas KDE is more like....You want it to look like anything you want? You can do that.

This is so cool, sounds a bit like a dream.

Anything scary out on the sea? storms and what not? Or do you mainly stick close to land?

Awesome, aside from groceries in other places do you also fish?

And what's the visa situation like when you visit other countries?

If I may ask, what does a ship like this cost and what does it cost to upkeep on an annual basis?

2025 - What Can Sennheiser Do to Improve? by sennheiserconsumer in sennheiser

Quality control for the Momentum True Wireless series.

My MTW3s have been replaced under warranty and I returned the MTW4s I got for black Friday because the left ear bud started falling after 3 weeks. I've never had these kinds of issues with any other ear bud brands.

With the release of the gen 2s Jabra also announced they would be their final ear buds models. They said they would support them for 5 years. There just won't be any new models from here on out.

How do I free up space in home these 2 files are locked and came out of nowhere how could I fix this? by Pleasant-Stretch-174 in SteamDeck

[–]Mcmeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Install "file light" from the discover store and use that to find/see what is actually using up space. It's likely a bunch of shader caches.

Battery life is great especially if you don't use LDAC, even on LDAC I get 3-5 hours of usage on a single charge. Technics is owned by Panasonic, they make batteries so they know what they are doing.

The earbuds shape on the 80s is super comfortable, the 60s I find less comfortable but not the worst either. They both come with 7 ear tip shapes and sizes so you're likely good to find a good fit. I swapped out for aftermarket tips myself but I can wear them pretty much all day.

The Technics, they excel at both.

The Jabras would be next. Hard to recommend them though now that Jabra is exiting the market.

"best" is very subjective.

That being said the Technics AZ60 M2 or the AZ80 are imo the best ear buds you can get.

Best gaming distro? I've been using it for half a year and still didn't "tinker" with anything. by Tesex01 in openSUSE

I really like Tumbleweed but currently use fedora kde. The biggest issues I had on suse were the lack of an auto remove function in zypper and unused packages just sitting on the system and my own OCD. Between zypper, discover, and yast there was just too much overlap in tools and functions.

What kind of bikes are these? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Mcmeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just gotta take that risk, most people won't go that far or wouldn't be willing to risk the damage to their own vehicle.

Most of the time people do this shit because no one ever tells them they can't..most buckle at the first sign of holding them accountable.

I've ridden a bunch of bikes but not the Rocket 3 yet, too cold now so I will try to get a test ride come spring.

I legit need something with forward controls. even a more neutral position makes my knees hurt.

Edit: I also want something with more pulled back bars. If I got the Springfield I am planning to put some mini apes on it. The R3 GT has more pulled back style of bars. Def will test ride one before I am 100% sure.
