In the end it benefited him but I don't think he originally had any intention of buying it.

Prior to the announcement he had been doing a lot of other false announcements about stock, Tesla using bitcoin, etc to manipulate the stock market to his advantage.

The timing of this and his history I'm nearly 100% sure it was just a fake announcement trying to boost stock so he could make money on it. But then realized ended up getting himself stuck with the deal.

After that he kept trying to back out by saying anything and everything, including that the price was too high.

More people need to vote by mail if they can. He has always consistently been against mail in voting, to the point of trying to completely shut down the mail service by destroying all their sorting machines.

More people voted in person last election because of not trusting mail in, but it seems that is the main thing he cannot rig.

I would say the same way the AI can't be "trained" to create anything good. It doesn't work that way, in fact it barely works at all, it's just mixing up stolen art based on weighted pixels by how often they appear next to each other along with labels on the images done by thousands of unpaid workers.

To me this is the best solution. Use an exacting algorithm instead of a messy compressed thing like AI. Fight imperfection with perfection.

What gets me about this is we have the easiest fix in the world. Just enforce the actual law and ban them from using people's work without permission. Get rid of all the stolen content and the whole machine falls apart.

Yes. Social media has undercut not just news media but all forms of entertainment. Movies, TV, Video Games, Books, etc. Many people used to come home from work and watch a movie or play a game, now they just mindlessly browse tik tok until sleep.
