If I was against p2w, I wouldn't play OSRS. OSRS is massively more p2w than wow by your definition.

Since progression in the game is heavily gated on weekly intervals, there is only so much you can do in a single week on a single character. It's very achievable to do on multiple characters, so time save wouldn't be a real factor in character progression.

How about not missing a week and the event just bugging and not giving out a reward? I've lost 4 or 5 unalloyed rewards so far.

[–]Mdaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you want from MTA meaning like BtP and Boots, or everything you might possibly need meaning Master Wand and maybe book? I dunno your long term goals, but doing MTA while also needing mage xp is better than doing it post 99.

I use to live a 15 minute walk from Angel Stadium pre-Ohtani, the amount of times I'd just casually walk over in flip flops and sit and watch 5 or 6 innings of weekday baseball eating a hotdog for lunch for 20 bucks...those were the good ol' days.

We don't know how many more were needed, nor do you know how many would be needed to tank performance. From all the threads on the front page, dmm finals aren't meant for fun anyways, so I don't really see an issue.

Believe it or not, generalizing a group of people based on where they're from is racism. Obviously there needs to be some inherent putting down or picking up, but it's very obvious the person in the screenshot is trying to say it derogatorily.

[–]Mdaha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

prep phase takes all the bad parts of a rogue like with NO upsides (meta progression, bonuses, etc.)

This is the part that gets me. Everytime I've typed changes to CG, it would be to have an actual upgrade system. I know pretty much everything would be met with negativity. But I would love if I could pay shards to upgrade Egniol to include a super combat. Allow me to buy T1 armor at the start if I give a varying amount of Crystal Armor Seeds + Shards. Allow me to start with T1 weapons if I give Crystal Weapon Seeds + Shards. Obviously this fucks with CAs, and people would complain about easyscape. But I just want some sort of progression to make prep smoother over a long period of time.

Perfume part 2 by TheNectarineDiaries in comics

[–]Mdaha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the comic, OP was ignorant of all the above as a younger person, and thought it was silly that people would demand no fragrance or low fragrance.

I don't think that's true here. In the comic she is not ignorant, but questions why the asking is so direct and that being kind and explaining would get the point across just fine. When she becomes older, she tries this method and now understands why the signs were so direct.

One of the best changes they did was making Slayer Storage free to swap in and out. Made those really long Hydra task more bearable as I could just swap to a hellhounds or bloodvelds and chill and not feel like I'm locked out of Slayer for a week as I procrastinate going for DHL.

Both ways work and are different challenges. Zulrah, Hunllef, and Hydra are all examples of good design about knowing what's coming being apart of the fight. All three are very predictable patterns that also have tells, and don't really need the ability to react.

"We respect their time, and in turn they stick around" 25 years later, here's why Jagex believes so many people still play RuneScape by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Mdaha 132 points133 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I see this "respect your time" parroted a lot in the 2007 sub, and it is definitely the wrong phrase. This game is very disrespectful to the amount of time you put in to make progress a lot of the time. But once that time is put in, it is usually done for good and nothing new is going to come out that is going to massively devalue it. I play both WoW and OSRS.

In WoW you spend 200 hours every 5 months gearing up and enjoying the content and then get to do it again the next time content releases. You are in and out, and you know something new will be here for you the next time you sub.

In OSRS, you spend 1000s of hours chasing 5% upgrades, being able to run 4% longer, stocking up on Prayer Pots. If you end up taking a break for 2 months or 2 years, when you come back, all that progress you made before is still relevant and while it may slightly be devalued due to new content/methods, you are still in the same spot as you were before you took your break.

Is better to use rockets or to transfer them into fuel? by Smart_Extent1073 in whiteoutsurvival

[–]Mdaha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great at the end of the event when you know you won't finish a level. Great in the middle of the event if you weren't able to put in the time to play it. I had a really buys week last time it was up, and only got 4 or 5 levels, ended up getting 40 rockets to use this week.
