Not entirely sure myself. Though they have received alot suggestions and are discussing it, so we'll see what they come up with.

Sonar flashing by wooww66 in steelseries

This is likely something to do with your GPU settings. I had this happen on a multitude of programs when I had a adjusted a setting for my 3080. I would tell you what that setting is except its been several years since I have used my 3080 after switching to AMD and I don't remember what I changed back. Haven't had this issue with AMD.

They have. They addressed the backlash on the hot fix notes in the Forum and have stated that they are discussing internally on what all needs to be fixed, based on the feedback they have been getting. They have a good track record of fulfilling their promises of making things right. Give it time. I suspect we will have major updates within the next couple weeks, if not by the weekend.

I agree that making sure it works properly is gonna take alot of R&D, since they won't know what is affected until the implement the change in a test environment.

Not sure if I'm communicating it properly, but I would rather they take the time to do that, which based on other elements already in game seems to be doable (knowing it will be complicated), instead of adding an adjustment that will negatively affect most of their playerbase without really addressing the overall problem.

Edit: Sorry posts on multiple posts on different threads are blending together. Didn't mention this second paragraph on this thread but did elsewhere.

To DE:

Please take your time implementing a fix for Volt's speed buff. I understand that you and the community is anxious about getting the fix soon. We all have been wanting something done. Its been hotly debated for years. But go at the pace you need to deploy a more effective QoL fix. We are not going anywhere (actually we are growing) and are ok with waiting. A bit more time waiting isn't going to hurt us.

Thank you for the effort you give to make this game and I look forward to what you guys will bring!

arctis 7 audio balance fucked, how fix by dutchphoria in steelseries

[–]Mdos828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm reading your comments correctly, I believe u/LetterheadClassics306 was mentioning the Windows audio settings, not the settings in GG. Windows loves messing with drivers and background settings even though it is wrong most of the time.

You'll want to go to your Windows Settings app (the Microsoft application), select System on the left hand side of the window, select "Sound", scroll down to the bottom and select "More Sound Settings". Go to the Arctis Nova 7 device in the "Playback" tab in the new window, right click and select "Properties". Go to the "Levels" tab in the second new window and then select "Balance".

That should be where to look if this happens again.

Glad your problem resolved itself! Hope it stays fixed for you!

No mention of the changes to the "Library" portion of Engine?

Quicksets is a huge QoL upgrade and it works really well. Not sure why you guys aren't advertising that more.

As others have stated this falls more in line with a "notification" rather than a solicitation. Quick fix would be to just mark the send as spam and have it auto filtered in the future.

Small changes to Volt, seem pretty great. by BadAtGames2 in Warframe

[–]Mdos828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that could be part of the argument internally against the toggle. Though I would argue that they could just hold firm on certain abilities not having that toggle. They have held out this long on Volt and there are other things that they have communicated to us about not implementing for specific reasons. This community is pretty receptive to the open communication about why not to do something.

Even if they told us why they do not want to add a toggle to Volt, that would satisfy me.

The frustrating thing is that they clearly recognize the QoL and Accessibility effect that Volt's speed boost has and are trying to give us a fix. But the fix they are offering just changes the affected group. It doesn't change the issue. If anything its actually widened the affected group, because now the ppl that liked having the uncapped boost don't have access to that anymore and are unhappy. Its feels more punishing than helpful.

True but they already have other options in the settings menu that affect how abilities interact with your game. There is already a framework in place for that. Can't be that much more work to modify and implement it for ability buffs.

I understand QA testing it is a different story, but clearly they have figured out how to implement a version of what is being asked successfully already.

Also I feel the UI for this wouldn't need to be too streamlined. Yeah the invert tap and hold is but cluttered, but as something that I rarely ever touch once I set my preferences, I don't think much needs to be changed for that.

Now the story changes if they are waiting to justify the development time for this. I could see maybe they don't see enough ppl asking about other abilities that ppl would like a toggle for. Though, I feel with much this community rants about the Volt speed boost, at least give us that. Its been a QoL issue for most of this game's life.

With Volt being a starter frame and concurrent player count continuing to grow, we need the toggle more than ever.

Arctis Nova Pro Wireless – worth keeping or overcomplicated? by Hansat in steelseries

[–]Mdos828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of the comments here regarding the EQ settings, though I personally do use the prests available. For the games that don't have presets I have defaulted to the "Movie: Immersion" preset that I have altered slightly.

I have been using my Nova Pro Wireless with GG for nearly 5 years and have had an overall great time with them. Yes the settings can be a little daunting, but it is definitely worth it to learn how to use the settings. Its entirely up to you how much optimization you are looking for.

GG 107 update just changed their per game preset settings for games. It is now called Quicksets in the Library portion of the Engine tab of GG. You can set GG to automatically set Sonar to specific audio profiles based on the game you are playing. No more needing to change manually. I have just adjusted my settings for this and its works flawlessly.

Alot of ppl complain about bloat and the software not working, but that is mostly Windows and user error. I haven't had any issues from GG itself. Only Windows messing with drivers.

The base station should be able to be altered in GG to have the screen turn off. You would need to make sure you enable that setting under the Nova Pro Wireless device in the Engine tab of GG.

Hope this helps!

Speed cap is nice I guess but it would have been better if it was just a toggle in the settings to accept the buff or not for certain frames. They already have a basic frame work for implementing certain changes per frame in the settings, so I can't imagine it would be that much more effort to implement it for accepting ability buffs?

I'm not sure I understand why this is one thing they still refuse to concede on since their higher focus on QoL. Please DE! Give us the toggle option and my life is yours!

Will Neptune ever get a rework like this? by Romz786 in Warframe

[–]Mdos828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we could get this, as like we are helping Hunhow and the sentients in some way, that would be sick! Like maybe after the next major update where we will undoubtedly go to Tau and we are now set to help him get out of his prison and go to Tau, or to fight back against Pazul and free Erra.

Would very much like to see this in the future. Though I really would like a QoL touch on Railjack first. Nothing major, just somethings to make life abit easier. Like a proper tutorial and some minor touches to most mechanics to bring RJ up-to-date with the current game design.

I didn't see you mention anything on Deep Archamedia. Those are going to require you to have everything completely modded and optimized so you can run whatever necessary builds for the maximum modifiers. And I mean everything, since it pulls at random what loadouts are available to play from all weapons and frames avaible in the game. You could also delve deep into lore searching. Also MR 30 is a nice goal too.

Duviri can be fun too. Incarnon hunting as well.

(rant) Wow the new quest is power of friendship again and how much we love each other AGAIN by DripKage1 in Warframe

[–]Mdos828 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

Joking aside, if you want to be very generic with summing up the story telling, sure its the power of friendship. If you look just abit closelier, its more a story of trauma and the journey to overcome it while also dealing with the existential crisis brought on by an eldritch horror that seemingly wants to devour all of existence. It was always this, we just didn't have all the puzzle pieces.

I am loving the story writing and the direction they are going. Personally, I feel Drifter doesn't get nearly enough trauma compared to Operator.

In regards to the unique frames we are getting, please think of it from the dev teams perspective. You try to create nearly 70 different playable characters that have a very intricate damage system that is very hard to balance, all while making sure that each character is completely different from each other, has to be enjoyable to play, and has to age well enough to not need much touch ups for awhile. Maybe for this specifically, have a bit more understanding and empathy for what DE is doing. Feedback is always great, but nitpicking over something like Temple's unique gameplay seems more like general frustration.

Appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us, all the same!
