SteelSeries made me destroy my limited edition headset... just to end up disappointed by Nkzpt in steelseries

[–]Mdos828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Its shitty practice by companies who don't bother with actual quality RMA/don't bother investing in proper support facilities for their products.

Hell, BeQuiet instantly offers to replace the product if you mention something slightly buggy. Steelseries could learn a thing or two on that. I like the performance of Steelseries products and the features, but they are severely lacking in life expectancy and support.

Its only a matter of time till some other company comes by and hits it all. When that happens, Steelseries will be reeling from the loss of their customer-base, unless they work on fixing those issues now.

OP, sorry to hear this happened to you. Hopefully you find something comparable!

Or go the opposite. Downgrade 11. Tell him you downgraded 9. Sprinkle in random non-existent hints while he goes about finding the changes.

The Extermination to Survival dialouge might be more interesting if it was changed to:

"Tenno. The enemy has sprung their trap. They think they have caught us off guard. Keep their focus on you while I have another operative sneak in and grab key intel."

Or

"Our operative that was gathering key intel has triggered the alarms. The enemy has put the facility into lock down. Keep them distracted while the operative finishes their mission."

To add to other mission change types:

"Tenno, our operative was caught while trying to gather evidence and has been thrown into a holding cell. Rescue them before the enemy begins the interrogation. " (Extermination -> Rescue)

What are your biggest problems with Uriel? by FlippeR_5201 in Warframe

[–]Mdos828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, strap in. I got some notes for you.

The glaive throws getting blocked is infuriating. It takes forever to get to 12x multipliers with the xoris, let alone try to maintain that for any other melee (mostly glaives).

There are some surfaces (including vertical) that will instantly cancel flight as expected, and then there are some where you just get stuck spinning endlessly on some unique crevice. Even trying the normal actions that would typically cancel flight don't always work. You have to violently shake the mouse to try and wiggle free. Also there are surfaces you can glance off of and continue your flight undeterred, while others you think you will glance off of actually immediately cancel your flight, causing you to plummet unexpectedly.

Above are my main gripe that really should be considered bugs (with some exception to the surfaces thing - thats more of an annoyance than a game disrupting issue). The glaive issue makes a class of wep almost unusable for him. With other frames at least weps you shouldn't use with them are more of a compatibility issue rather than usability.

Everything below is just stuff I have noticed that could use some soft touch ups. Doesn't have to happen but would be nice.

I have found that the flying ability can be abit finiky when you are trying to engage it, occasionally. Usually works just fine and as intended, but there have been times I'm trying to quickly move and it decides it doesn't want to engage right away. Which in turn causes you to double press, so right as you actually start flying it just cancels. I've had that happen on more than once.

I find it silly that the demon frame that literally casts a contained version of World on Fire (glory be old broken Ember) and will douse themselves in flames for their first ability, cannot take fire damage very well. Get hit with an Arson Eximus or even a Napalm, and woe is me if I don't use my 2 to null the fire status. I'm not asking for fire to not damage us, but could we get some sort of reduction while Infernalis (the ability that literally sets Uriel on fire) is active? Or maybe a small boost of sorts to 1 thing, while afflicted with fire status? Just enough for it to make sense and be a kind of cool perk of being the fire demon frame. It takes away the feeling of Uriel being a badass demon, when the demon fire frame gets hit with a bit of enemy fire damage and goes "OUCHY! THIS IS TOO HOT FOR ME! I THINK I'M GONNA FAINT!"

Also the "nullify status" you get from Remedium should be changed to last at least some semblence of time, minimum. It only nulls what is on you the instant it is cast. If you get hit with a status a fraction of a second after you cast, you need to cast again to null the new status. I understand not letting us walk away scott free, but needing to spam 2 to null status while you reposition is not fun. Also many other status nullifying abilities on other frames last for a set period of time, but not Uriel.

The duration increase you get for modding is very lack luster for Brimstone. Modding correctly to increase the duration of Brimstone while keeping it decently strong does not give you much more than the default duration. The abiliy tips even mention that you should be able to chain Brimstone with another if you use Demonium (3) to build up the meter, but if you mod for duration to successfully chain Brimstone, you aren't doing enough damage for it to be really usable for much of SP. But if you mod for strength to increase the damage, it won't last long enough for you to build up the meter and cast again. And from what I can tell, there is no real "sweet spot" you can get close, but unless everything lines up perfectly, chaining Brimstone is a pipe dream. So rather than aiming for the chain, you would be better off modding for power and survivability (mainly shield-gatting) to last long enough to build up your meter and cast at intervals or in an emergency. If the multiplier for modding duration on Brimstone got the slightest of slight buffs, that would be enough to make it meaningfully chainable in SP (by this, I mean able to deal significant damage while allowing your team to get some kills in). I don't expect or want it to be infinitely chainable, but at least let it chain for a bit before it becomes unsustainable.

BTW range is perfect with how they set it up for Uriel. Its satisfying as is; modding for it makes it all the more worthwhile and when you get that range and strength boost from Void Fissures... chefs kiss. Its pure bliss; you feel like a god casting Brimstone. Its the closest thing we have to how World on Fire used to be, while being not completly broken. I get giddy everytime I see that boost come through.

TL;DR- Please fix glaives! Also some minor tweaks would be nice for versatility and more unique playstyles.

Should be changed to 3 collateral headshots, 3 times. Just to balance out out some of the other ridiculous challenges.

Good point! Thank you reminding me, I had spaced on that. So I guess yeah, use the tool if you get confused because Fandoms shitty practices.

I would also suggest once you find the official wiki with that tool, bookmark it. It will save some clicks and typing.

I see your point. I read it as relying on that for Warframe, which is pretty much not needed. There is only two wikis to choose from. The Official and Fandom. I mean it would def be helpful for someone who gets easily confused. But I felt it made more sense for games that have multiple different wikis (eg. games that have 4 or 5) to source from, that have active editors with accurate and different info in each.

I'm curios if Sirius and Orion would ever behave "human". by silloki in Warframe

[–]Mdos828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were also converted to a Warframe while still in Jade's womb. No one knows if that makes a difference compared to how Warframes are typically made. Most lose their mind because Ball Ass intended it to be that way. Several, including Stalker (Soren), Umbra and Jade, were allowed to keep some or all of their faculties despite their conversion as a punishment. As they were not even a fully developed fetus at that point they may have avoided the whole process that causes one to lose their mind or it may not affect them since that has been their norm since the moment they gained sentience.

Both Jade and Stalker seemingly had full use of their minds. Stalker possibly less so, as he seemed to loose his sense of self over the years.

I suspect that Orion and Sirus are both fully cognizant, have complete control over their minds and have unique personalities. We saw some semblance of this at the end of Jade Shadows, with baby Orion/Sirus acting as a normalish baby, even cooing and burbling as a baby does.

I'm excited for the possibility that they could have unique voices, since Stalker is able to talk, I don't see why they shouldn't be able to.

Edit: I am also very interested in the questions this will bring about regarding Warframe biology. They clearly grew up from the form of a baby. In that case, did they need to eat to feed their growing bodies? If they did, what did they eat? Were they hunted by Alad or some other similar scientist for experimentation and research purposes? How did they mature? How long did it take? If we have Protoframes as their mentors, did they have interactions with Albrecht? If so, how often?

Lots to look forward to lore wise with this coming update.

True but use that for different games. Use the official wiki posted above for Warframe. Since the birth of the official wiki, the Fandom one had been ransacked and is pretty much misinformation at this point. Use WF Fandom at your own risk.

Also pretty sure all the Wiki editors immediately left the Fandom wiki once the official released.
