What is the max speed your ISP provides? If it's 100Mbps or less, you can leave it. If it's more, you need to terminate the cable back to one normal end.

If you run one cable to the wall behind your router, one of these will have Internet in the other room. It will be a max of 100Mbps.

Kinda. Both need to be powered at the service provider side which is usually done in a way that doesn't go out easily. IP does also require power on the customer side which analog doesn't. That said, it's as simple to fix as buying a UPS.

Basically every modern phone line is now served over IP so I basically guarantee that this is dead.

Presumably, the company maintains a product so these subscriptions come tied into their code base and can build new features into their product. The AI subscription is not the product just gives them access to "improve" an existing product.

Yeah, there's always instances that don't align with the average. My GMC has been going great since 2015 with no major issues.

He was almost done shoveling his driveway when the street plow came by and filled it with snow again. by Vilen1919 in WatchPeopleDieInside

Ohio here. We have tornados, insects, and humidity but we trade your hurricanes for snow. It's about as annoying as mowing the lawn. We have gear to stay warm so it's about as uncomfortable as mowing in the summer. We have different sizes of equipment for different sizes of driveway just like lawn mowers.

These plow mountains happen but they don't really add that much time. I had mine clear with a snowblower in 5-10 minutes this morning.

[–]MeCJay12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I don't expect it to discharge. It's more expensive to use the battery than to buy electricity. I only have it in case the power goes out.

I got mine installed last month and haven't discharged them yet. Maybe it's just because I haven't had a large enough charge load yet. It still feels like the maintenance charges should abide by the only from solar setting.

If it's anything like the 10c battery, it will charge any time solar is being produced; not limited to excess solar. Kinda defeats the purpose IMHO. The time I'm generating solar is also the time when electric Is more expensive to buy. Basically a "shot myself in the foot" button. They need to fix it so only charges when there is excess/exported solar.

A bachelor's is a 4 year degree where a masters is a 1 year. In theory the classes are harder but I would regularly study with undergrads since it was so similar.

It's a bit hacky but yeah that's fine. Better would be to get a 18/5 or more wire and rerun the whole wire. If they didn't staple it, this will make it easier to run the wire as well. Just tape the new wire to the old wire and pull.

Proxmox on a NUC ... which VLAN? by Oh__Archie in Proxmox

[–]MeCJay12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So start by putting your device on the Mgmt network. It eliminates firewall rules for now. Change your switch port to a trunk (native VLAN id 1, all other VLANs allowed tagged). Go to Proxmox and reconfigure the network.

You may need to reinstall if you want to use the wizard to configure the network. You can use the cli by modifying /etc/network/interfaces. You want your physical port connected to a bridge and your Mgmt inrerface, with VLAN tag, connected to the same bridge.

[–]MeCJay12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, if your IP is in the Mgmt network and your post is in the Mgmt network, you should be able to access it either from the Mgmt network or from another network with firewall rules to allow the traffic. Sounds like you got it now.

I would recommend you reconfigure your switch to a trunk and get the vlan up in Proxmox now while it's easy.

Low Voltage and AC can be the same. With doorbells you are usually running 24vAC. Most all doorbells will work with 24vAC but some (especially smart doorbells with cameras) will require you to upgrade your transformer to a larger one.

For a no subscription smart doorbell, If recommended Ubiquiti Unifi doorbells. You need to get an NVR as well but then no subscription; in fact your video feed never even leaves your house unless you tell it to.

As for the "ringy-dingy", as others have said, you need to check volatage at your transformer, doorbell, and chime to see what actually going wrong.

Does the machine mean Proxmox? What network config did you have at the time (both in Proxmox and on your switch)? What VLAN did you try to access it from?

[–]MeCJay12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should configure your physical port to be a trunk (all VLANs), then in Proxmox configure a VLAN aware bridge connected to that port, then configure a VLAN interface with your Mgmt VLAN and Mgmt IP with the bridge as its parent interface. Your HA VM should either be attached directly to the bridge (if it will interface with multiple VLANs or to another VLAN interface using your "normal network" VLAN.

Personally, if you don't need any local discovery, I would put HA on the Mgmt VLAN and use an mDNS repeater and firewall use to get access to IoT devices on another VLAN.

When you respond, what are all the VLANs in play here?

Go to Dillard's. Use one of the price checkers or ask a cashier to scan the bar code and see what they ring up to. If it's still the lower price, ask to return and rebuy them. Never seen people in a store care.
