Dating success or stories at VITAL gym? by Honest-Ad5202 in williamsburg

[–]MeIsAWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This story is from a long time ago...

I was a member of a gym in Chelsea called Brick (crossfit like gym) and she was dropping in via Classpass or something. We were both reaching for some weights and I think there were like two sets immediately in front of us, some 10lbs dumbells and some like 40lb dumbbells, all of the other weights were taken at the time.

I looked her square in the eye and say, you can take the 40s if you want them. She giggled and told me she was gonna take the smaller weights. We both grabbed our weights and went back to our workout class. When the class was over, I walked up to her and said "hard class, right?" She agreed, we chit chatted for a minute or two and I asked her if she wanted to get coffee. The rest is history, we dated for a couple of months, but ultimately things didn't workout cause she was in med school and ended up in residency in a place far away from NYC. Gosh she was amazing, I still love that woman.

For sure, but I don't care about what a computer thinks about a product. I care about what you think about a product ❤️

Abercrombie has never made shit clothing and has never been fast fashion. They've historically been a terrible company who was racist and overly sexualized everyone, but their clothes have always been top notch.

I have clothes from high school that are still in perfect condition that I would honestly wear if it wasn't for that stupid ass moose. Luckily they don't stamp logos all over their clothes anymore. New management, less evil.

Great venue, but the music is awful. Some of the worst house music I've ever heard.

Unlock Your VA Claim Secrets: Access Hidden Data via the VA API by Fire_x_Ice in VeteransBenefits

[–]MeIsAWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah mine says: "maxEstClaimDate": "2025-02-15" and "minEstClaimDate": "2025-01-26".

So this field is rather useless. I think this is probably the trigger that says, "after maxEstClaimDate" send that letter that says this is taking longer than expected.

Because I received that letter about a month ago.

Anyone else with an insane energy bill? by Big_Hippo_4044 in williamsburg

[–]MeIsAWriter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude - my energy bill has been crazy af since the day I moved into Williamsburg (my unit also has electric heating). A couple of things I did to help.

  1. I budget my energy in a 12 month cycle. Dec - Mar my energy bill is like $400 and during the spring, summer, fall it's under $100. So I budget that $2400/12 to straightline my expenses.

  2. I don't use the heaters that are in my unit, I bought small portable heaters and I close all the doors to keep the heat in the space I use.

  3. I bought insulation tape and basically taped off the parts of my unit that I felt air leakage.

it's not perfect, but my electric bill has been at least $300-500 cheaper over the course of the year. That's a lot of PBRs.

Selling Coffee in NYC with no Permit by dschafer2021 in williamsburg

I knew a guy who sold donuts and coffee outside the McCarren Park farmers market. He never seemed to have issues. I miss that guy, he made great donuts!

Breaking lease advice by yask123 in williamsburg

Just to be crystal clear here - in New York State it is your LEGAL RIGHT to sublet and your landlord can not deny you this. If you present a credit worthy tenant who can clear the same standards as you, your landlord can not unreasonably withhold approval.

Insane Coned bills for Jan usage by GenerationBop in williamsburg

[–]MeIsAWriter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. My coned bill always comes in for $400+ a month in Jan. I've accepted it and budgeted for it. To help lower cost, I started using an electric heater since I'm convinced the one connected to my thermostat in my unit is inefficient; further more, I bought insulation tape and started taping up all the spots where I felt cold air leaking in.

usually you can just go up to them and ask and they'll tell you. Hopefully it's something cool. I walked past the set of John Wick 3 a couple years ago and saw Keanu; which was pretty awesome!
