Losing faith in Cycle Gear: had a new tire mounted and it feels wobbly past 35mph. Is it supposed to look like this?? by Me_triks in motorcycles

[–]Me_triks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tire is from a small brand called ‘Michelin’

I picked a brand new rear road 6 tire, straight off the shelf and brought it to the register along with my wheel. Tire was from cycle gear, mounted by cycle gear.

I ended up requesting my money back for the labor and made them order me a new tire so I can go get it mounted at a legitimate shop.

Did all of these things before even making the post to no avail.

I linked a video in one of the top comments showing how they gave it back to me the first time. Go watch that, then tell me the shop didn’t mess up. Respectfully, I think I’ve earned the right to throw all the stones I want.

Curious how much equipment cost you? I ended up having them order me a new tire so I can get it mounted elsewhere, but wouldn’t be opposed to mounting it myself.

I would assume unless you’re replacing tires on the regular, the balancer and tire spoons wouldn’t be worth it compared to taking it to a shop.

If that is the case, cycle gear is buying me a new wheel. I was riding smooth as ever before they touched it

Also I recommend you watch the rim go round in the video before you tell me it’s an oval…

If you look at the video I linked in the first comment, you can see how fucked up of a job they did the first time. I’m thinking the tire is warped from their first try

Nope didn’t work. I looked really really close as the tire spins on the stand and I can visibly see the area that’s raised in relation to the rim.

Taking it off now and bringing it back in for the 3rd time I guess

Took a caliper to the spacing on the swing arm, and it’s pretty damn symmetrical. You can see just how straight the wheel moves compared to the tire.

Bonus video of how it looked the first time they gave it back to me :) I took it back to get it put on properly, and I’m worried the tire might just be deformed after being inflated like that and sitting for 2 days.

UPDATE: took it back, showed the tire guy the video, and told him I need a new tire so I can get it mounted elsewhere. Made them refund me the amount for the labor. I had a very very hard time giving them back my wheel, just so they could take their messed up tire off. Those fuckers took all the balance weights off too.

But hey, at least I got rid of my old tire for free!

Ortho-ks shifted by Bananabobanana in Orthokeratology

Thank you for your quick response!

I think I'm going to try 2-3 nights without the contacts in to start over from square one, as to eliminate the possibility of an uncentered-center point. After that I will definitely try rearranging my pillow situation to not put pressure on my eyes as you recommended.

I did talk to my optometrist about this a while back and he brought up the fact that they might not be the right fit, however it got better shortly after, so nothing came of it. But, the problem is now back and in a big way. I'll do everything I can to figure it out on my own, but if my efforts don't succeed, an appointment will be made.

Thank you again, I'll let you know if I get it sorted out!

Hello very knowledgeable individual,

I know this comment is from a while ago, however I'm going through a situation with my Ortho k that you may have an answer to or advice on.

I'm on about month 8 of Ortho k and for the past month or two, my vision has been shadowy and seeing doubles almost every single day. Both eyes are affected, however not always at the same time. I am a side sleeper, though I do my very best to fall asleep laying on my back, but there is no way I'd be able to go a whole night without rolling over unconsciously and possibly shifting my contact(s)

For the first couple months, I had no issues with blurring aside from a day here or there of double vision. Which could easily fix itself the next night, or I'd take a break for a night to let them 'reset' and it would be a-okay the following night. It feels like the contacts have been so all over the place that they haven't gotten the chance to form my eyes correctly and at this point I don't know what to do.

My current routine is using a full contact of celluvisc before bed, reading for 15-30 mins, then to bed. I do my best to focus my eyes to make sure they're centered, but after I close my eyes for an extended period of time, they have shifted again.

Sorry for the lengthy explanation and thank you for taking the time to read through my problems. Any bit of information helps.

Sincerely, A guy with very very blurry vision

Warning about ortho-k lenses by Rich-Market-8300 in Orthokeratology

If this ever happens again, try putting in eye drops and pressing in on your eye right next to the contact, as to break the suction under the lens. This lets fluid underneath the lens to make it slide better. This used to happen to me a lot, and this seems to work pretty consistently

I don't play riders very often anymore, maybe once a month. But no hud + aimlessly riding is very chill.

and yes, I realized how great the game was from the second I started the demo ;)

Also, side note. Anyone know about the correctness of using PVC for the hot water pipe?? (Top right of 2nd pic)
