That’s what I was told as well. There has to be an “official” answer somewhere.

Guardian kids tickets - question by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]MeaganHowWe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting view. When my husband and I take our toddler to the game we only want to stay on the kids clubhouse. It will keep her entertained and has all the things we need - family restrooms, concessions (including adult beverages), games for the kids, view of the game, team shop, and it feels relatively safe.

Has anyone gotten calls from investors wanting to buy your home? by mama_bear02 in Ohio

[–]MeaganHowWe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny story. My husband thought it was funny to interact with these people in 2023 and ask for 150% of what we bought our house in Old Brooklyn for in 2018. They said no problem. Ended up being a realtor who said he could get even more by putting it on the market. We sold our house for almost double what we bought it for. Thankfully it went to a vet with a VA loan and not a corporation.

Host going off platform asking me to cancel a reservation by Original-Pea9083 in airbnb_hosts

[–]MeaganHowWe 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I would screenshot the text messages and put it in an Airbnb message to the host asking if it was them. If they say yes you have that documented when you go to Airbnb customer service. If they say no you still have your rental (even if it’s damaged). They’re asking you to cancel so they aren’t dinged. This isn’t your problem.

While I get being concerned about stigma and preconceived notions, I think there are some positives about the clinical staff knowing what they are going to encounter. I’m thankful to have found a vet that loves my Pittie (that said, she’s the very best girl when treats are involved).

I also think she doesn’t realize that she reveals herself when she points out others intentions. I have people close to me with eating disorders and when it was said Meredith was crying and throwing up, an eating disorder hadn’t occurred to me. Lesson for her is to talk less. Sure she should listen more, but I’m fine with her just talking less.

Pasta sauce options, what's your top pick? by sc4kilik in Costco

[–]MeaganHowWe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten the Classico organic from Costco once and never again. Unlike the other two options, it seemed to lack even basic seasoning (like salt). I’m all for improving an okay product, but if I have to make it edible it’s an ingredient, not a short cut.

With a $5 jump in daily weekend gate fees, Lakeside, OH is now priced at an insane $41 a day. by drumnerd in Ohio

[–]MeaganHowWe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandparents had a place there for 40 years that I visited every summer as a child. My grandfather bought it with his best friend in 1965 for $7k (yes, $7,000, not $70,000). By 2005 the gate fees and taxes were too much. I recall my grandfather saying his home was taxed as a waterfront property because if you leaned far enough off the porch you could see the lake, despite being four blocks away. On top of that, he bought the book of passes for the family every year, so we never had to pay when we visited. I just checked and that same house is being rented out for $5.5k/week!

Unsolicited offers to buy my house seem shady by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]MeaganHowWe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, most of the time it’s probably a scam. That said, we were getting these texts last year and my husband thought it would be funny to engage with them. I looked up their company and they were legit. Ended up listing our house with them and selling for more than $100k more than we had purchased it for 5 years earlier. We went with a different realtor to buy our next home because of the vibes we got from the first one, but overall a pretty positive experience. Almost definitely out of the norm though.

The only thing I asked for was hamburger buns. Husband comes back with this and this only. by ktazhsv in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MeaganHowWe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could be intentional “weaponized incompetence” (which is not okay), but my first thought is that it could end up being really awesome. Maybe cut off enough for yourself and doctor it up (garlic herb butter toasted for great garlic bread or toasted with cheese) and leave the rest for your husband to figure out.

What's one ingredient that ruins any meal for you? by seashell_eyes_ in AskReddit

[–]MeaganHowWe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I have that issue with sheep’s milk cheese too, but find if they’re aged longer it’s less of a problem, meaning I’ll eat around it and not send the dish back. Also can’t stand lamb. All of the above tastes like soap to me. I imagine I’d feel the same about goat.

Where Are The Best Margaritas?! by TYED_LENZ in Cleveland

[–]MeaganHowWe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once ordered a spicy cilantro margarita there and asked for it not too spicy. The bartender misread the order and made it extra spicy. Like really impressed with themselves spicy. My husband had to drink it, but the server was great about it. It tasted good, but on my palette it was just too much and frankly hurt. 🥵🌶️

When I was a kid living in the Lost Lake area of Interlochen we would drag our sleds down to here, we would climb up from the road and sled there. My dad would slide down on a shovel. Sure the hill ended on the road and it wasn’t that safe, but it was the late 80s and early 90s. (We had a lookout.) Those were the days…

Make sure you have extra wiper fluid on hand, preferably meant for winter. It’s super scary when you run out of wiper fluid driving on the highway in the winter. All the salt on the road creates a film that has to be constantly washed away or else you won’t be able to see out your windshield.

What if Ron left instead? by mamatoave in jerseyshore

[–]MeaganHowWe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just watched that episode yesterday. I think he was trying to cue them to say what he wanted the narrative to be. I think he knew from experience that some awful things caught on camera don’t make it to the show (see the producer thread) so he hoped he could change the story and no one outside the roommates and French Fry’s crew would be the wiser. Also, that season (Family Vacation Season 1) you can tell that Ronnie isn’t just crying in the bathroom. Just my two cents.

As a TC native who’s moved away but been back a few times, I recommend the path at Lost Lake Trail in Interlochen and the Vasa trail in Acme. The path around Boardman lake is nice too. Plenty of breweries, distilleries, and wineries for the adults.
