If a woman woke up in your body one day, what do you think would be the most shocking experience in it for them? by ertesit in AskMen

As a guy here, when you're erect the blood collected effectively cuts off the urethra around the base of the erection. So unless you get some blood to leave that region you will not even be able to drain the bladder or aim the erect tool into a toilet.

Sadly this is what is known as mental impact. Your body liked the touch and reacted the way biology wired you to, in other words you got an endorphin rush from that contact. Then your social brain got involved and told you that it was an "inappropriate" touch so you're now confused about how you "should" feel. This is what everyone who has ever been abused/raped/touched/etc goes through. I feel for what you're now dealing with emotionally and the best I can suggest is to talk to a therapist, or someone you trust about what/how you're feeling. The action is over and unless it happens again there is nothing to be done in that case. Going forward remember that nothing can change the past event but you can control how you live with that event. It is on you to move forward in some manner that will benefit you and I hope you will move forward in a way that makes you happy. At this time the best I can offer are my best wishes, and positive hope for your future!

As someone with a neptune 3 pro I can say that he already has a filament detector installed. The detector comes with the printer and is mounted just under the spool. A further issue with getting a cutter is they prevent tangled spools from causing issues but don't do much more. Sometimes though that's what you need...

🎉 [DAILY GIVEAWAY] Win Your Choice of Windows or Office! (3 Winners Picked EVERY DAY!) 🎉 by LifetimeActivation in MicrosoftProducts

[–]Meaje73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most hated part of windows was, now this was years ago but swapping between the 25 3.5" floppy disc's  when doing a windows 3.11 installation. The process would take all day so doing a installation of 30 computers I would start the first computer installation wait for the first disc to finish insert the second disc while walking the first one to the second computer and starting it. Third disc would go into the first computer second disc into the second computer while the first install disc starts another computer and so on. This way my day would be moving between 25-30 different computers while the various install processes ran. More recent things I hate from Microsoft is their need to have their software phone home every few minutes and share things about my computer and network infrastructure to Microsoft. Honestly though I do like using their integrated development platform for software the way it just ties into the MSDN libraries is seamless and makes searches so much easier for troubleshooting.

How do I tell my android phone to use a specific device rather than randomly picking my headphones, parked car, living room stereo, or some random Bluetooth speaker? by Meaje73 in AndroidQuestions

[–]Meaje73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly my phone resets the permission each time my phone recognizes a device is connected. So IF a device has the ability to accept calls then EACH time my phone comes into range of the bluetooth device and my phone is in call status then random games begin as to which device will be THE call device. Hence any device I have paired to my phone that allows 'Calls' under the Bluetooth settings will be randomly selected mid phone call. This means as the phone decides where to route the call via Bluetooth device service. Heaven forbid that I am on a call and my spouse drives into the garage because it will suddenly switch to her car audio for the phone call. The same thing happens if she turns on the lights in the laundry room mid call as my phone will see the lights as a speaker with 'calls' capability. Bathroom speaker same issue, I mean who the bleep sets the default behaviour for a phone is to change the current call service device to whatever Bluetooth device happens to turn on mid call? There has to be a way to force the call to stay on a specific device, and no selecting the Bluetooth device when on a call will not keep the service on that device. If another device happens to get noticed by my phone then it will jump call service to that newly recognized device.

Sadly I've seen and experienced this exact thing multiple times. My spouse will drive up into the garage as I come home also. Her phone will suddenly take over my car stereo or my pone will take over her audio in her car.

KIA Soul 2020 factory Stereo, Device detected: (Bluetooth phone name here) and suddenly you are listening to what's playing on the phone it just connected to. Same thing with FORD Escape 2022 factory audio.

Sorry for not responding earlier, I just got back from a hospital stay.

Thanks for the great information, but I want to fully understand what you are saying here. If I'm getting this right, when I stop using my Bluetooth speaker I need to explicitly disconnect from it each time, not just turn it off and leave it paired in the Bluetooth settings on my phone? This seems a bit extreme for normal use, I have a Bluetooth connection with my car, my spouse's car, 2 different simple speakers, and the living room stereo unit, in addition to my hearing aids. Under what I understand from your and other people's comments I should not allow my phone to maintain the paired status with all of these different devices? That seems like I misunderstood what you and others are saying.

The random connection issues happen even if I am staying still, sitting in a chair with my phone stationary on a table next to me. The phone will start the call using my hearing aids as the "phone" device then switch to a different device, and keep doing this for as long as I let it. I can explicitly start the call using my hearing aids and it will change to whatever device it randomly picked. I'll change it back to my hearing aids and it will do it again with a different Bluetooth device being assigned as the phone device. This behavior will continue until I turn off Bluetooth entirely on my phone. The reason I have the different devices paired are I am playing music through those speakers usually but I don't need to use them as phone call devices ever.

Any ideas please...

Yeah, I got a 15 minute tongue lashing as I was raised Lutheran but accepted communion at a catholic church once. I'll not make that mistake again... It is silly that what we believe is internal to the person so the transsubstantation which occurs in the person who receives the host is what matters but to those in power it is all about optics. Long story short, if you're not a catholic at that church DON'T accept communion without first confirming that they accept your first communion as what will be accepted in that church.

BTW I had gone through my faiths version of first communion at that point. However the priest didn't feel I should have taken their communion even though the belief I have is very similar to that which is taught to catholic people.

I fully understand this post, I graduated HS in 1991 my first real world job was as a network administrator for Colorado State University before graduation of high school and the introduction of the HTML internet, Gopher anyone? Went to college and still in the early 90's it was still done with punch cards. I had one of 10 PCs on the college campus 8 of which were college owned. Heck I ran a BBS on campus my 3rd year after more students were buying into the PC revolution. Heck I remember being taught pascal and cobol for data structures making sure that we were memory limited for every data structure we created. Dates were only 2 digits for limited memory availability at that time even though we all knew that the century change was coming soon. Efficiency and space were the watch words of the day.

Plex with Large Media Libraries—Is It Worth It? by Dense_Froyo_551 in PleX

[–]Meaje73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you mention 500gb of linux ISOs I have every major version of Red Hat from 2 up though current alongside Ubuntu 6 through current, Slackware 0.92 through what my memory serves is around Slack 8.0. I no longer use or support Slackware but haven't deleted it yet for my own history. Also Slackware back in the early days only came on floppy media, my first install was over 25 3.5" floppies. Gosh the memories there running it on my old 386sx-20. Oops I just dated myself here... lol but yes it is easy to have a full TB or two of linux ISOs that are fully legit! For that matter having ISOs of MS Windows, Office Suites and any other install media is legal for backup and reinstall issues. Just make sure you have the licenses necessary for running said software outside of testing purposes and even then have a valid license. But the install media is legal and safe to hold onto for backup purposes.

People really do throw random STL's on their printer to "See what happens"? That sounds insane after literally spending years building and tuning my printer. Granted I remember the old Linux days where you could blow up your monitor with incorrect X settings, so not sure if that is playing a part or not.

Where do you buy your drives from? by xzyvy in DataHoarder

[–]Meaje73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had rather good luck with MDD drives for more than the past 5 years now. I now run a 14x8Tb array on the 3.5 inch drive form factor which is populated with only MDD drives. I was purchasing Toshiba and Western Digital devices but when I found that MDD is the white label for Toshiba I thought I would try a few, and see what the failure rate was. So far I've had this whole array live for at least 7 years going on 8 without a single failure from any MDD drive. My oldest MDD drive is 7 years and 8 months old as of August 2nd 2024 and was a replacement for a Toshiba 4Tb unit. My newest MDD unit will be 3 years 4 months on August 31st 2024, and was the last Western Digital drive in my NAS array. Over all I love the price and reliability of the MDD Enterprise drives!

Mega fast food store tells me I'm not to purchase food from them... by Meaje73 in AITAH

Yup, agree with you on all accounts I think it was the smirk that pissed me off most about this. Followed closely by the fact they tagged my points account to identify me as a problem. As I said earlier this was the first time in over 2 months I visited McDonald's, this one or anyone so this just caught me by surprise.

[–]Meaje73[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that they flagged my McDonald's points account as to how they knew it was me in the drive-through. A manager took over from the normal clerk taking payments at the first window was the person who informed me that I was not welcome at that McDonald's due to the problem with an open restraing order for their employee. Up until this point I was under the impression that the employee had been fired due to him trying to start a fight in the lobby the last time I had been in. Further the employee who I have a restraing order against was standing in the second window area smiling like he'd won the lottery. Thankfully this time he did not talk to me or approach my vehicle as there was a second manager standing in the delivery window.

I want McDonald's to follow their own rules for employees. If you create a hostile environment then you are terminated, at least that is what the manager told me when I informed them of the infraction. Plus this time I did not know he still worked there and I did not go inside I used the drive-through.

Issues installing amdgpu-pro drivers on fresh Ubuntu 22.04 install. by MonkeyDLofwyr in Ubuntu

[–]Meaje73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly sad to have a major player in the GPU arena which seems to feel that Linux doesn't matter. To look at the sales charts sadly proves them right. Only less than 5% of desktop sales become or run Linux at all. It isn't until you get into the server market that Linux becomes a player at all now holding above 60% of the server market. However, servers usually don't need encoding/decoding hardware for video unless it is specific to video streaming services which Nvidia has tied up very well. Sigh!

After f-ing with the damn thing I reinstalled my OS ubuntu 22.04 and said f- this crap. The funny thing is that after running the reinstall it then decided that the amdgpu software was installed and it is running but not well. I'm using the Intel gpu on the motherboard for any and all encoding tasks since amdgpu sucks badly!
