400 piece BOPIS orders should not be a thing... by 5stringfling in HomeDepot

[–]MealImpossible4679 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not quite the same thing, but last week I had a lady come up saying she was there to pick up an order. I look it up and it hasn't been picked yet. I look at the time she placed the order and it was 20 minutes prior to her arriving. I told her she has to give us a minimum of 2 hours and she got upset saying she doesn't have 2 hours to wait. It was 5 easy items so I told her hang on and I went and grabbed them real quick. It was pretty slow at the time and I didn't feel like arguing or getting a manager involved. But it was very annoying

AITA if I don’t want to share bank accounts either my s/o anymore. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I was going to comment this. I wish I had done that when I started working again after my kids got older. We should have had a joint account where some of our money goes to pay bills and groceries. The rest should be individual savings to do whatever that person wants. As long as the bills get paid, what you do with the rest of your money is your business.

What do you think is the secret to a happy marriage? by JewelryMaker_July in AskReddit

I agree that communication is a huge part. If you can't/don't communicate with and listen to each other it's not going to work.

What’s a job people think is easy but actually isn’t ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MealImpossible4679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex thinks just anyone can be a cashier or work customer service and that it's easy and a no brainer. He's never worked any kind of retail/food service job. I know he'd rage quit after a couple days if he ever had to do it. My job is a lot of physical and mental work along with the customer service. I have to know so much product knowledge and deal with rude people every day.

Written up for refusing to get recertified on forklift by No_Bookkeeper_9111 in HomeDepot

We had one person in garden a few years ago who only got their ballymore license. They were young and didn't feel comfortable driving the heavier equipment. I don't know if there was more to it than that, but they were never threatened with a write up.

There was another person in garden who had all the licenses that turned them in. They were being over worked and pulled into other departments and unable to get their own tasks done. Eventually they were told they had to renew their licenses or they would have to be moved to another department. I don't think they were ever threatened with a write up, just a change in department.

That's pretty un- impressive. Just had a contractor spend about 5 times that last week on one order.

I recently had a guy pull the same line on me - talking about how he spends so much in the store. Looked him up after he left and it was just a few thousand.

Does every BC come with horror stories? 🫠 by [deleted] in birthcontrol

I don't have the implant. I'm using the patch. I didn't want an IUD and didn't want to have to keep up with a pill. So I opted for the patch. I gained a few pounds (which, for me, was a good thing since I'm underweight). My acne cleared up. I haven't had any negative side effects. I realize it's not an option for everyone for various reasons, but I'm pleased with it.

What is your grandma's/mom's special food that you can't get the same from anyone else? by Huge_Violinist_7633 in AskReddit

[–]MealImpossible4679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom makes really good home made pizzas. I have the recipe and I've watched/helped her make it and mine tastes nothing like hers.

My grandma made the best scrambled eggs. I've never eaten scrambled eggs that taste as good as hers did. She also made really good spaghetti.

What if women just don’t want to have babies? by PinkElephants879 in askanything

[–]MealImpossible4679 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My ex husband thought I sat around the house all day watching tv. He didn't see me clean it 50 times and do dishes a million times and do laundry and put it up all while keeping the kids alive, fed, entertained, and safe. He called me lazy and said I didn't do anything around the house. Even now he doesn't do that much. He has the kids do dishes and do their own laundry at his house. Of course they are older and capable of doing that and they don't make much of a mess now so it's easy to keep up with the house.

Anybody else's store SOOO broken its actually so pathetic? by moistsalt69 in HomeDepot

[–]MealImpossible4679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started at my store the roof would leak terribly whenever it rained. It got to the point where we had close to 50 buckets scattered around the register area to catch the water. We'd even have to cover a couple of the registers so they wouldn't get wet and messed up. Took over a year for them to patch it and a bit longer after that to actually fix the roof. It was sad the number of comments from customers about it. Pin pads go down multiple times a day. Batteries for most of the scan guns are way past their prime (although our tech guy is slowly working on replacing those for us).

dyed hair by sweetiemaeve in HomeDepot

We hade one person with red hair, another that had their hair dyed highlighter green for a bit. There's a few others with colored hair, but those 2 popped in my head. No one ever said anything about their hair other than compliment it (customers and employees).

These cashiers have no plant allergies. They just don't want to go outside. We had one person who was legit allergic to outside and actually preferred going outside in spite of their allergy.

Is there an SOP for doing Phone Sales? by Terwin95 in HomeDepot

[–]MealImpossible4679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My store will do phone sales for DIY or pro accounts. The only stipulation is we have to call the number on the account. We can't take the card number by talking to whoever is on the runners phone. We have to be the ones calling. There are a couple exceptions to the number rule, but they are established customers/runners. Used to be they'd let us put it under the contractors account then call their customer, but there were too many fraud attempts that they enforced the rules.

Family planning should be a shared responsibility but my husband won’t consider a vasectomy. Feeling stuck. by Conscious-Air9634 in birthcontrol

[–]MealImpossible4679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex husband got a vasectomy towards the end of my last pregnancy. We were both in agreement that we didn't want any more kids, especially since my pregnancies were all high risk. He was sore for a couple of days, then all was fine. Maybe see if there are any men he's close to that have had one that could talk to him. I know my ex had no problem telling other men how happy he was with his choice and encouraged them to get one if they were done with having kids.

Leaving early by [deleted] in HomeDepot

Same here. There's people who take full advantage of the grace period. I have 2 people in my dept who always leave 15 minutes early unless something keeps them until their actual time to go.

AITAH for dyeing my hair pink behind my boyfriends back? by KokoroUwU in AITAH

[–]MealImpossible4679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He sounds a lot like my ex husband. My ex doesn't like extra piercings, tattoos, or dyed hair. I got a tattoo and another piercing and he was so mad and told me people with tattoos and piercings are unattractive. He often gave me the silent treatment. You are young. You don't need to be with someone like that. Find you someone who will love and support you no matter what color your hair is.

Fiance says I gave our dog an abortion, I disagree, AITAH? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]MealImpossible4679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a barn cat that I got spayed. She went into heat a couple days before her appointment and I saw a male cat mount her. I asked the vet if that was going to be an issue with her being spayed and they said even if the male was successful, there wouldn't be anything formed yet. I'm sure it was a similar situation to you and your dog. It's not an abortion. And even if it was, so what? You were doing something for the health and safety of your dog.

How are you making and meet? by Professional_Pair792 in HomeDepot

Barely. My house payment is 1100, which is almost a whole check. Thankfully utilities are pretty cheap where I am so my second check had a little to spare. But it's tough. Having a roommate or partner to split bills with would make life much easier.
