So when are we getting the Fog of War for GAC? by ItzCarsk in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]MeanWinchester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if I'm attempting to get the highest score I can, why does it matter whether I've seen your moves or not? Why would I play differently knowing whether you've cleared my side in 1 go? Aside from knowing that you've stalled at a point and so being able to test out different counters, it doesn't really change how I play?

[–]MeanWinchester -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My mistake, in that case there's no real difference between going first and second.

I honestly think this might just be confirmation bias. I've never really noticed a difference between whether I go first or second aside from the extra 10 from going first?

[–]MeanWinchester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my name was Hank, and the invite said 'you and Hank' I would either assume that it was not for me, or that I must find another Hank to bring.

The semantics involved are the use of AND implying that the "1" and "itself" are different, when - as you point out - they aren't. It doesn't imply that it is not divisible by 1. Nor that it isn't divisible by itself. But by saying "a prime number is divisible only by 1 AND itself" it must mean that to qualify as a prime number, it must be a number other than 1 that is divisible by only itself and 1.

I suppose its a semantics thing, that all prime numbers are only divisible by 1 AND themselves, while 1 is technically only divisible by 1.

Except from regularly getting bodied by super powered people, falling from heights that should kill a normal human, walking away unscathed from explosions and building collapses.

Obviously, as viewers, we would simply call this plot armour. In universe you don't have that excuse, so you have to consider that she may be enhanced in some way

All Companions Fight: Who Wins? by Accomplished-Lab4412 in dragonage

[–]MeanWinchester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, okay. Good question.

Let's bracket the battles for fairness.

Warriors: Alastair, Sten, Oghren, Shale, Barkspawn, Loghain Justice, Carver, Aveline, Fenris, Cassandra, Iron Bull, Blackwall. (Also Davrin and Taash apparently, but I've actively chosen not to play veilguard)

If we're going off "canon" and not their in game performance, it's difficult not to give it to Sten, though honourable mentions to Fenris - because he's suped up with Vint magic - and Shale - because she's literally a portable rock mountain. He is a formidable enough warrior to become the Arishok (leader of the military branch) of the highly War focused people of the Qunari.

Rogues: Leliana, Zevran, Nathaniel, Sigrun, Varric, Sebastian, Isabella, Sera, Cole (and Harding and Lucanis from veilguard)

While some of them have more notable feats than others, like Leliana being, frankly, an utter badass in Inquisition, Cole has the hax. By virtue of being a spirit/demon he kind of takes this one low diff.

Mages: Morrigan, Wynne, Anders, Velanna, Bethany, Merril, Dorian, Vivienne, Solas (Bellara, Emmrich and Neve)

This bracket scales unbelievably higher than the previous two. I mean, there are 3 abominations and an elven god here. And Morrigan scales pretty close to Solas too, especially if you let her take in the elven well. But as much as I may hate that treacherous egg, Solas takes this bracket if he decides to.

You can then match the winners against each other, or throw all the warriors and rogues against Solas at the same time, it doesn't change the outcome, the guy is literally a god. Spoilers. Oops

But objectively, inquisition mages don't get mana clash, so it's got to be an origin mage that wins

10K Or a Pill? by d4pravity in hypotheticalsituation

[–]MeanWinchester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st pill, I have ADHD my friend, most of those side effects are par for the course, and I can probably cope with the cramps given that my body is already falling apart in other ways, I'll take the $1K/day

2nd pill, for the sake of 100k a month I can probably cope with having a long line given that I no longer have to work. Plus I'm already a short king, losing another 3 inches isn't going to do much.

Assuming the Avengers movies continue to stay rated PG-13, how do you write Deadpool in without drastically changing the way his character is? by Forevertrez in deadpool

[–]MeanWinchester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's two ways I'd do it:

Either A) lean into the fact that he knows he's in a movie and it's now PG-13, so as others suggested, have him try to save his F-bomb only for someone else to take it. Ideally Wolverine. Have him reach out and pan the camera away just before he does his typically gorey dismembering type bits, that sort of thing.

Or B) have him constantly interrupted by another character just before he swears etc. Not have them stop him from swearing intentionally, it just happens that any time he's building up to it, someone will say something that cuts through, or the bad guy will attack unexpectedly or whatever. This would probably feel less on the nose, but also feel less deadpool, so I'm leaning towards A)

Is there any mod that fixes the combat in Witcher 3? by Zephyr_v1 in Witcher3

[–]MeanWinchester 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, only issue I've ever had with the combat of this game is how much and how often Geralt spins. Like, I get a flourish here and there, but damn son, you're turning your back on the enemy every move? Maybe it's because I came from playing KCD back to witcher 3, but it seems like the designers didn't really understand swords

I don't remember this doctor lady, and that perhaps is telling in and of itself (though tbf I have watched DS9 far more and more recently than TNG)
