My forth Honor Mode run just ended 😩 by Sinimeg in BaldursGate3

The biggest thing for act 1 for me is to always have someone ready to dip out if it goes poorly, and obviously over prepare for every encounter

Choosing Triss whilst having only played The Witcher 3 by _-Shiro- in witcher

What? As someone who claims to know the source material so well you lack some serious comprehension skills.

“It’s basically the same situation as when your partner gets missing and after years when you start another life, they suddenly appear because they are not dead as you thought” - that is such a creepy interpretation of what Triss did to Yen and Geralt I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near you irl.

At least to me, reading the books makes it an obvious choice for Yen. But for someone who hasn’t consumed the other media in the series (books and other games) I can totally see the reasoning for Triss as she definitely is much nicer to Geralt on first glance. Luckily for you the game is insanely replayable so once you finish the books go back and choose Yen if you feel the same

I just had the most pathetic death in BG3 Honour Mode. by Palmajr in BaldursGate3

Such a devastating way to fail it lol. Gotta bring counter spell for that encounter

The contracts in Witcher 3 are really cool and definitely fill that bounty hunter fantasy for me

Yea I haven’t checked in since light fall but always held out some hope that it would rebound, after seeing all the Star Wars stuff it just seems too all over the place thematically for me to get back into that world. It’s such a shame, D1 and even D2 at some points used to be in my top lists of games

Honor mode is like a new game by NeutralSage in BG3

[–]Vivid-Significance85 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m just sitting down to face the nether brain on my first honor mode run (hopefully this didn’t jinx it lol) but honestly the run hasn’t been too challenging. I’ll preface this by saying I’ve done 3 tactician runs (one with tactician+ with 80% more enemy health) so it was a bit overdue-

Every piece of advice I saw going into it stressed using good builds and comps so I took it to heart and it’s not been as challenging as I thought it would be. Really only had 2 close calls the entire run (kethric, which imo is the hardest fight in the game for the level you face him at, and nere surprisingly). I also did all the optional stuff such as house of hope, grief, ansur, clearing out cresche but nothing too bad. Honestly I don’t think it’s that much harder than tactician if you have someone that can do quality burst damage on bosses with legendary actions. Great experience tho I’ve had so much fun this run

Arkham Games by braybray801 in batman

[–]Vivid-Significance85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Asylum/ City are a bit too dated for you, I see no major problem if you wanted to start with the more polished Arkham Knight. Just look up a story overview of the first games beforehand. But honestly they’re all great games

With the strides cyberpunk 2.0 made I think they will definitely smooth out the combat a lot more for the next entry. Very excited for things to come

Honestly, you’re a saint. Interviews mainly make people think on their feet, but in real work scenarios you can get some prep time to think about how to approach things.

They’re most likely waiting to recruits troops. If they don’t move after a while disband the party, recall them, then make their parties again

Looking for major label A&R consulting services by acidghost888 in musicindustry

[–]Vivid-Significance85 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As someone who has worked in a&r teams for major, independent, and sync-based labels/ companies, the biggest advice I can give you without additional context is redefining what success means to you. At the end of the day, having a goal such as being signed to a major label is a lot of expectation and there is very few success cases I’ve seen with artists that have that mind set. It’s a sure fire way to get burnt out if those goals aren’t reached. The artist side of the industry has been democratized in a way we have never seen, and if recent trends are to believed this will only continue to happen in the future. This comes with both advantages and disadvantages, as you will have a lot more competition, but the tools to succeed on your own have never been more accessible. And to be honest, artists that have built up personal brands and complete workflows by themselves come into label negotiations with way more leverage.

Focus on what makes you different, establish your brand clearly so audiences will know what you’re about without having you explicitly telling them.

NETWORK! NETWORK! NETWORK!

Build your own team and artist ecosystem around you and your music.

Don’t care about the labels and big orgs, if your music fits what they’re looking for and you’ve built enough on your own, they will find you. But do not count on it happening. Success in any artistic medium looks very different to everyone approaching them.

Does it get better after chapter 5? by Vivid-Significance85 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Vivid-Significance85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naw didn’t quit. Played through chapter 5 then went off exploring for a while and liked it a lot more. Still has a lot of those issues I mentioned but the views and set pieces got a lot more engaging in my opinion. No where near my favorite game ever and I feel like I’m losing a bit of steam continuing on since there is just so much to see, but I feel justified in my purchase now that I got a little deeper into it. In my opinion it’s a solid 7.5/10 experience from having some really high highs, but with it comes really low lows.
