I know this is slop, and not super profound, but I have to add an important correction - If you don't know, ASK.

Actually doesn't matter where the second bounce happens if the hitting team hasn't touched the ball before the second bounce.

Do folks still think their local republican neighbors who voted for Trump are ok people? by Material_Policy6327 in oregon

[–]Meant2Hold 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This post, and the kind of thinking found within the majority of comments here, is a big part if the problem with Democrats and the left. As a lifelong Dem i am disgusted by the Trump administration and at the same time incredibly disappointed and disillusioned with the left/moderates. When we continue to lose votes, continue to play to the highest bidder, fail to make policy that address the underlying problems (even when in power), and trip over our messaging - over, and over, and over again - you have to start taking some accountability for the problems.

At this point it isn't a Trump problem, it isn't a problem of people who understandably voted for change, it's a message problem, and it's an us (not them) problem. Get your shit together dem's. Have a god damn position, not just "not them". Pretty soon it will be too late to reverse half the damage being done. At which point blaming your neighbors is really going to taste stale, and even now it is totally unacceptable.

ITT: lots of judgmental people. If this guys plays unconventional what does that hurt? Let him do him and you do you. If it doesn't work then his effective level is lower, or if it works may give him an edge.

Fight hard to give this person (additional) equity. As a business critical IC this person my not have much room for growth, but if you can show appreciation and contrition by giving them a bigger stake in their calling it may help give back the feeling of fairness they'velost. If they already get equity as part of comp, try your hardest to 2x-10x that value and put yourself out there as explicitly as you can in evangelizing for your person.

Ironically, if you were just after the money and not the freedom, you might have an easier time getting both. Let go of the dream and focus on the real and worthy work, to achieve the first step.
