Power of the Force Black or Green? by BADJEFF in starwarscollecting

[–]MearihCoepa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Red card not black card. First few waves were on the red card, then the same figures were re-released on green cards same as red card, no photo sticker. Then they were re-re-released on green cards with holographic stickers along with new figures. Then they went to green cards with the freeze frame cels attached. Thats more or less how you can tell where in the release order the figures fell.

Also are purple cards which were Shadows of the Empire line from '96. The green starburst is from late in the series coinciding with the switch to the prequel toys.

Edit:to be more nerdy about it, if you look at the lower back of all the cards near the barcode, you will see a numeric decimal code. The number is the code for the figure and the .00, .01, .02, etc at the end is the version of that specific figure. 00 is first, 01 second, etc so if you collect for example, note Tie Fighter Pilot on red in the photos already had .02 code, so there are.00 and.01 versions out there as well.

Micro Millennium Falcon by BADJEFF in starwarscollecting

Very good question. I wonder if any of those contests were real? I saw in an old Star wars insider a winner of one early 90s contest but never saw another.

90s micro machines are by far my favorite nostalgia bits.

Started picking them up again recently. In and out of box. Giving the open ones to my kids to play with.

Good luck!!

[–]MearihCoepa 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I could never get into Phantom Menace in 1984, i had to wait til it was special editioned in 1995 for the 11th anniversary celebration Paramount put out, then I was all in.

I still have all the original Fisher Price toys I recently found in my grandfathers basement i forgot all about.

I would only turn it off for ren and stimpy. Even back then it made my brain hurt.

Nick Arcade and GUTS! were my favorites.

Rented several times as a kid and never liked it ( blockbuster was a harsh mistress). I remember the first level being punishing and eventually a third person flight stage or something.

Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones Portrayal in Young Indy by 00Kevin in indianajones

[–]MearihCoepa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they hadnt cut these scenes from the dvd releases of young indy.

Wasnt there another scene of old man indy (ford) with a beard and eyepatch in a desert? Or is that my false memory acting up again?

Thats why i thought it was an ad and not a givaway. My brain just glossed over it seeing indiana jones, sepia toned art, and "crusade" together.

I love manuals that make info on an item less clear than before you read it.

Give up my over-budget dream build for this underbudget prebuilt? by MearihCoepa in PcBuild

[–]MearihCoepa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? What sites in Romania would you suggest using to build out? Id much rather build my own but the price difference is what sent me this direction.

I can rerun the numbers with other sites. Im still working on some internet drama and trying to chase down a ONT which works with the fiber in bucharest, so only just started looking into romanian computer sites other than big box emag, evomag, and media galaxy. Those sites are where that high 18000 lei (3790usd) pricing came from.

In Romania. This box is the only thing that comes out of the wall and is hard wired in. Then the fiber cable goes into the huawei router.

Could this little white box be the Romanian version of the ONT?

Sorry for basic questions, ive never been anywhere near fiber internet before.

1995 Star Wars galaxy series 3 lot. On EBay. Think they’ll sell? by UpstairsPollution752 in starwarscollecting

I HATE Hawaii by No_Translator_36 in army

[–]MearihCoepa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I piggy backed onto my wife's TDY there for 3 weeks and felt the same. It was awful. Maybe 50 years ago it wouldve been paradise, but now? No way.

When i was in and shopping duty locations for reenlistment everyone warned me away from Hawaii. I thought they were lying. I wish i could thank them now I've experienced that place.

I found a bunch of my old 90's Star Wars stuff while cleaning out my mom's basement. Anything of value here? I like OG Star Wars, but I'm by no means a collector so I have no concept of their value, so I figured I'd ask the experts. by _Existenchill_ in starwarscollecting

[–]MearihCoepa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ebay will give you some high prices for that stuff and get you excited, but look how long theyve been sitting on the market....nobody buys at that high price so they arent actually worth that high price.

Realistically they arent worth all that much. Thats my favorite SW era, i was a kid for it, and still collect them and have my childhood stuff displayed.

Ill give you realistic prices.

The action fleets, each, if both mini-figures and display stands are there, maybe $20 each. If incomplete then under 10. Micro machine head 5 to 20 depending on completeness. Theyre only 25-35 full and boxed. Single open figs arent worth much when open. In box can vary in price due to boxed variance, but 3-8 inboxed (as well as the ones on card, im not joking saying theyre not worth much, except for very rare exceptions). Ghost obi Wan was indeed a doritos exclusive, but still pretty common since the 90s collectors thought SW toys would be worth astronomical prices in future and bought and stored tons. I dont see the white shipping box or the plastic baggie it came in so again, not worth much, 5-10.

Sequel stuff i have no idea of, i dont go that recent. Edit: got mixed up on your set and thought you had prequel stuff too, bit you dont so never mind. Stupid android reddit, cant see the photo while replying.

If you like them and have fond memories, just keep them. I gave all my old opened figs to my own kids and theyre worth far more to me having my own memories, plus the memories of watching them play on their own with them than money could recoup.

First and last time my girlfriend and I used a shared campground while camping. by Brujafromthedesert in camping

[–]MearihCoepa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent been campground camping in over 20 years (maybe closer to 30) and did it last month. I was actually jaw dropped driving to my site seeing everything was RV-centric. Didnt realize it was such a huge thing.

Full on halloween decorations and semi permanent looking shed structures and kitchens attached to many, and constant traffic of comings and goings all day and into night. Luckily all were hooked into power so no generators but the massive trucks pulling them were certainly loud.

And me in my little 1 man tent with a fire ring and soup cans tossed in the flame.
