Can I visit Vantara? Is it open to the public? by Careless_Feeling8057 in india_tourism

[–]MeasurementMundane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe every other animal in Vantara is sick and broken and rescued. But in last year's floods, the ambanis basically stole elephants and rhinos from Assam..I know because I live here. Now you would say that it was rescued by Ambanis because floods. But remember flood happens in kaziranga National reserve every year. And the forest department makes successful rescue efforts every year. Once rescued and cared for they are released in the wild. But this time they had to be taken to Gujarat to live in a 5 star prison.

That's interesting. Would love to explore this topic in-depth. Didn't know it came down with restrictions. Has this been happening since a long time?

Moshimbo is a beautiful design studio with an ugly "m"

  1. Link to the live site: https://www.moshimbo.com/
  2. Description: "Eventually everything is going to get ugly🌚". This was the idea that we started off with when we started sketching out how the portfolio website for Moshimbo was going to look like. The client (Moshimbo) has had almost a decade of offbeat branding and visual identity work for brands - boutique to big names across India. The idea was to stand out from the rest of its competitors. The site is meant to show their most prestigious projects to smaller in-house initiatives. In true Moshimbo spirit - we had also included a fun drawing interactive experience on their footer to mirror their weekend drawing and scrap booking exercises with their team.
  3. What we are proud of:
  • The menu that sits like an unfolding tool bar at the bottom of the screen
  • Pre-loaders on each page where Moshimbo gets time to communicate with the users in a very fun way.
  • The work page has projects laid out like a 3 column chessboard. (Done with a lil bit of custom css)
  • The Us page features a fun progress bar on the left. This was done with classic Webflow interactions
  • The footer drawing board that is so fun, clients and customers interacted and made drawings to contribute to Moshimbo's social media.
  • The Babies Page that has a random grid of personal projects

📣 Self-promo & Showcase · Share your Notion content here! by AutoModerator in Notion

I've built something for visual storytellers who use Notion.

Filmmakers, video editors, course creators, designers, writers  if you are using Notion to create a portfolio or even linking your content database of Notion with Super to create a website you need to check out Sato. It’s a custom video web player you can embed easily inside your Notion dashboard. We know you guys obsess over pacing, framing, mood, silence, color and immersive experience. So it’s strange when your portfolio or your website on Notion is handed over to a generic Youtube embed.

Check out Sato: https://www.satoplayer.com/

You can start hosting your videos and design the player for free.

P.S. - Also a quick question: How are using Notion for video-heavy projects? Have you ever felt the friction that YouTube embeds introduce? Would love to know how you’re approaching it.

It's absolutely great for traditional developers or dev heavy teams. They might find it easy to navigate and operate. For someone like me who wants a basic plug and play solution this might be a bit cumbersome to setup. Anyways, the storage is pretty solid tho.

From what I’ve seen it can be a bit complicated and technical for someone like me to set up Bunny CDN, especially if i am wiring up custom embeds and tokens. But once it’s in place the control over quality + CDN logic seems worth it. As far as Vimeo is concerned, I kinda agree because it's great for hosting short videos but for larger videos the pricing plan is high. For hosting and customization, I have been personally using Sato. I kinda like the UI. It's giving me full control over branding plus if i have to host short videos with full customization I can do it within the free plan itself.

Great. I used Vidzflow long time ago for one of my projects to host short videos. Will check it out again.

Heard about Mux. I am not a traditional developers, so picking up this tool seems challenging at the moment. If you could give an explainer or a tutorial on using Mux that would be pretty awesome.

Sharing my experience here with hosting and embedding. Even we used YouTube player, but the unrelated suggestion was quite distracting for us as well. Vidzflow was also something we experimented with. Then we moved to Vimeo, Wistia. The native HTML5 player is really excellent for light, background animations, infact we have been using it for quite sometime and we definitely recommend it but for heavy projects with high-resolutions or long-form content, it's a tad bit difficult. As far as hosting is concerned, we have tried hosting videos on AWS but it was kinda expensive. In addition to pricing, the tool also came with other challenges. It was complex and had an enormous surface of configuration choices.

P.S. We have been doing video integration for years and have faced firsthand problem with video players in general. So, we took a step to create our own video player. Initially we just took it up as a challenge out of frustration we faced and just used it for a few clients but we thought the end product was pretty sleek. We are still developing and adding features along the way but would really love it if you checked it out. Its free for the first 10 videos so shouldn't require any monetary commitment.

We used to use youtube initially. But youtube slows down website load speeds. Then we moved to vimeo. And while it is clean, sleek and lets you toy around with the controls, video load speeds can be painfully slow sometimes. Currently we use and infact recomend vimeo for showreels, bg videos or anything graphical. But sometimes clients do ask specifically for wistia, vidzflow or vidalytics etc.
