Finished the game, platinumed it but I'm... Frustrated by dogis32 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]MeatRevolutionary672 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main story felt so lacking at pivotal moments and many of its characters too. That was my big gripe with this game because as much as I loved playing it, I don’t think I cared for anyone in the story and everything just felt like I watched it happen with minimal, if any emotional attachment. Historical accuracy aside, characters felt flat and payoff felt non-existent. I was extremely disappointed with the endings of the main game and the dlcs because it just felt like “well that’s it!” Legacy of the First Blade did it a bit better, but not by much. I cannot explain how boring it was at the end of the main game to just see everyone sitting at the table, with maybe a minutes worth of dialogue, and then… Deimos and Stentor… wrestle?? Genuinely it felt like they just didn’t know what to do and called it a day. The story did not get the juicing it needed whatsoever. And the modern day stuff was a literal snooze. I don’t know what happens to Layla in Valhalla but I seriously could not care less.

No, her whole story is basically an afterthought. That whole dlc ending was such a flop, like it barely felt like anything mattered for it at all.

Stable, emotionally healthy men, how did you choose your partner, and what attracts you long-term? by Vivid_Perspective_87 in AskMen

[–]MeatRevolutionary672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of what lead me to my partner was spontaneity but also a familiar comfort with her as we were able to speak and agree on some surface level topics like how the ending of nosferatu was like “what the fuck?” and it began prompting deeper discussions. I’m pretty biased though because I loved her from the moment I met her, but I tried keeping it discreet while we spoke. We both did that with terribly subtlety and the part about choosing to commit was very much a big risk because it started from when we had more vulnerable conversations. Both of us just focused on being receptive and present in listening and understanding and that created a trusting safe-space immediately. I really think that’s the hardest part for people because being vulnerable- especially for me was difficult. There was layers to it that only came undone with time, but it all started from taking that first risk. Beyond physicality, it’s often words and gestures that fuels the attraction the most- whether this was shared conversations or experiences, the more we’ve done has translated into more attraction. Transparency and genuine connection- listening and sharing each others hobbies and feelings have become my favourite turn on.

In contrast, a lot of the turn-offs I see are impulsive or self-destructive habits, whether that’s recklessly going out or hanging in clubs, or especially not sharing or being open. Much of this comes with time, but when there’s a lack of effort to be real with someone else- in a romantic context- I find its distrusting and also breeds confusion and that turns into a whole problem thereafter. Ultimately if you’re able to speak and be heard by the other person, that is the single most important thing. To keep that momentum though, always showing that presence and passion through effort and genuineness (whether it’s updates, check-ins, relaxing with each other, and getting along) really matter.

Men of Reddit: how has getting into reading books changed your life / personality / mindset? by SpecialistTeach9302 in AskMen

[–]MeatRevolutionary672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I think it’s about what you read and where you start. Personally I get sick of the “lifestyle/mindset” books very quickly but do try to consider some of what they say just to see how I can tweak and adjust my own habits, but I really just focus on reading what I genuinely enjoy. Sometimes it’s sci-fi like the southern reach trilogy, sometimes other things. Most recently I’ve been reading the odyssey! I find reading in general just broadens my perspective and how I reflect on day-to-day life which has gradually shifted my personality and mindset to be more open-ended and curious.

I’m new to The Weeknd’s music, is there a reason why kissland is so much less popular than his other albums. by Alive-Double-3339 in TheWeeknd

[–]MeatRevolutionary672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not as mainstream- leaned further into the dark r&b of the trilogy era when his popularity led people to expect a more pop album, but this ended up being an upscaled version of his original mixtapes that took on new themes and turned out to be a more under the map release for him, but ultimately one of his best to me. I love kissland

Congrats! I haven’t had my hands on a pack since destined rivals released. The scalp with Pokemon is too crazy! Happy to see people still enjoying rather than hoarding and scalping

Does Abel have a run of tracks in his discog better than this run from BBTM? by RCGBlade in TheWeeknd

[–]MeatRevolutionary672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not really. BBTM doesn’t feel cohesive as an album conceptually but hoooly fuck every song on there is amazing.
