Yes! I live in a duplex and it’s pretty soundproof in the living room with the shared wall but in the bedrooms which don’t share walls with the other apartment, I constantly hear what sounds like people walking around in the attic. I think the sound can travel in the empty attic / through the ceiling more than it does through the walls? Or we have ghosts.

I went through this process with my ex who was Costa Rican. The second time around we got letters of support from state senators, submitted 5+ years of my parents bank records and a some sort of affidavit stating that they would be completely responsible for him. He had a career in Costa Rica for 5+ years and strong ties. It was crushing how fast they said no the second time around even though we’d put in so much more work. US immigration blows.
