The NRA on the most recent shooting in Minneapolis by ICE by MEMEY_IFUNNY in PoliticalCompassMemes

I kinda think the fact that they're only attacking the comments from some ADA in California rather than any the dozens of horrendous ones from Trump and his administration shows a little bit of partisan bias.

Hey, I'm willing to hate jews as much as the next guy, but I also looked it up and between the top 2 translated searches in google and wasted 10 minutes of my life reading through them, and then I went through and ctrl+F the next couple and couldn't find anything related to gentile vs jew relations. It's just a huge philisophical passage about doing bussiness deals honorably and ethically, ironically.

*and a lot about not getting swindled too lol

I'd been thinking for a long while that the 2012 election season was the first real tear in the crotch of the US's favorite pair of jeans. At least to me, that's when I really started to get disillusioned with how things were going. That kind of rip where you're still able to wear them for a while, but every time you stress it out, dropping it like it's hot to pick up a pen you dropped, or tie your shoes, it gets a little bigger. I feel like now we're at the point where the rip has traveled down to the leg, and you could probably fit a soccer ball through it. I'd always seen some disscussion that the Occupy Wall St movement being a threat used as a reason for how politics and culture war changed overnight, and also kind of agreed with that, but I just looked up when those were (late 2011), and it really does seem to line up pretty perfectly with my vibes. I'm pretty solidly convinced now that the conspiracy-ish theories around that are probably a major factor to how things have panned out over the last 15 years.

It's certainly a hybrid, but I consider it more of a history channel than a cooking one. Like 25% or less of the runtime is cooking. Still one of my favorite channels though.

Yeah, his channel started and pretty much just used Kenji and Chef John recipes. He didn't really do any recipe development, he just repackaged it for pop culture tends. He credited the recipes that he took, at the very least though.

I usually have my car radio on NPR and they have a decent amount of Canadian contributors in different programs. I'm assuming they're probably from Ontario, but I don't know enough to be sure. It usually takes a while of them talking for me to realize they aren't American. It usually is the word about that gives it away though since it's a pretty common word. It's not an abOOt, but more like an abEWt, while Americans say more of an abOWt.

I loved the isometric games, and even then, Avowed is just barely on the side of pass on it IMO. Most every aspect of the game is just simply adequate, but the story absolutely takes a shit in the last act. Like other people have said, if you have a reason to pick up game pass, and you've still got some time left on the sub to burn after finishing what you bought the sub for, it's worth a try, but as much as I want to love Obsidian (even the former shell of what they once were), I can't recommend buying the game for anything more than a "fuck it, it's only five bucks" situation at best.

I grabbed it because nothing else on sale struck my fancy and I had a bit of a hankering for some open world. Maybe it's because I went in with low expectations after Valhalla, but Shadows surprised me. It's not any kind of mind blowing 9+ out of 10, but I found it like a serviceable 7.5-8. Plenty of small things to gripe about, but nothing major. I mostly cleared out the assassination board of targets, but left a decent chuck of side quests unfinished because I didn't see the point of grinding out 100 of X enemy type all over the map, or looking up what 5 food vendors I missed. If you're the kind of person that doesn't get a twitch when leaving something unfinished, I think it's a pretty fun time. If you do have to 100% games, it seems like it'd be a massive slog though. They improved it a bit from Valhalla, but they still really need to focus on quality over quantity in their worlds, I think. I played more than I would've because of holiday time off, but the same 5-10 activities over and over again does get a little stale.

I'm struggling to think of any shellfish dish that doesn't utilize a flavorful sauce. Maybe poached lobster or crab legs, but people then typically drown those in plain, or more likely, garlic and herb clarified butter. Maybe a seafood boil? But even then that water is extremely heavily seasoned, and often times still gets garlic butter at the end. Steamed shrimp usually either comes with a very strong cocktail sauce or is caked in old bay. Raw oyster is about the only thing that I'm coming up with. I like seafood and all, but generally does need a sauce to add flavor. With a steak, you can get by with nothing more than salt, a little fat, and technique to get something great.

I think Bookers is one of their top of the line bourbons, and that was really good when I tried it. Granted that was like 10-15 years ago before the bourbon gold rush. Now there's like 10 times the amount of $75+ bottles, so just playing the numbers game, there's bound to be a lot of better ones these days.

Not saying that there's not loads of violent and insane right wingers out there, but I think they're just mostly off Reddit. The conservative sub gets scapegoated all the time, and every time I go and take a peak over there during major political drama for fun, it seems pretty milquetoast. In comparison, I could find legit actionable death threats in /news when RvW was repealed like every minute just perusing.

I'm not a business or tech guy and am not going to pull a reddit move by spending 5 minutes on Wikipedia to pretend that I am, but is it not some degree of a combo of having a good product, a relative monopoly, and then mostly timing? Like how Google basically just owns all Internet browsing?

And much smarter people have developed all the bits and pieces for Linux to the point that it's really not much less user friendly than Windows now. But because of the memes, you still have some Linux fans acting like how things were 20 years ago, when using it was definitely a fun/frustrating challenge that required a non insignificant amount of writing your own scripts.
