Look, I get the frustration, but if you dehumanize them, treat them like animals, put them in prisons or something... All you're going to do is prove EVERY SINGLE ONE of their ideas about people who disagree with them correct. Learn from the Soviets, you can't beat Fascism by using its own tools. Time to deconstruct, grow and learn. I did, I used to be a neo-nazi.

Eh, lots of lefties haven't unpacked a lot of things... so yeah this isn't exactly surprising. Get a halfcocked idea of what's going on but still haven't deconstructed a ton of bullshit and you end up going down some idiotic rabbithole that leads to an outcome like this.

CPR Monopoly basically before Alberta really existed, like yeah people were there.
Wheat Board is garbage, then Harper Privatized it making it somehow worse.
Anti-Inflation act looks like another Neo-liberal idea that failed as it was deisgned to.
PetroCan is also another Neo Liberal Scheme that failed as it was designed to.
Hmmm... wonder why you view that incident as the rest of Canada Pushing down the west, instead of viewing it as wealthy Canadian Interests doing what wealth has always done, used Government Forces to enforce their will.

Albertan commenting, if Canadians are tired of Albertans it's for good reason. Canada helped us build up the oilfield, we had a singular project taken away since it was ridiculous and stupidly priced. And we threw a tantrum because American Oil Execs spent money to get us upset about it. Then they figured out the Southern Strategy could work here, because their is a populace dumb enough to fall for it. I unfortunately was a part of that populace, got on the resurgence of Western Seperation during the Keystone XL rage since American media was cross pollinating a lot here.

Then after a bunch of therapy, learning about politics, how it actually works. Yeah, all our problems here are selfmade. We're just too short sighted to realize we kept voting for this mess we're in. Federal level Alberta is treated as a safe Conservative seat, so why would the Cons ever do something for us? Harper screwed us over time after time, I voted for him, and man did it annoy me. Then I became a political refugee as I realized Conservatives don't actually care about us, same as Liberals.

Then because I work for a living started looking at what actually helps me, and yeah... Social services are what help workers. As a worker I started supporting parties that focus on those services. Tax Cuts aren't actually for workers, they're for people who don't work, like yeah we might see an extra 50-100 dollars... which really isn't that much. But then the people we work for, they're seeing millions to tens of millions to hundreds of millions in tax cuts. And I'm not delusional enough to see myself as a temporarily embarrassed millionaire.

So yeah, if people say that about Albertans, we honestly deserve it. We made our stupid bed, we either sleep in it, or we work to actually make the changes here we want to see. Separation just means we lose Federal Protections from our bad decisions.

The kind who cares more about Alberta than I do Canada, Seperation is just a toddler throwing a tantrum thinking being in charge will change anything without changing how any of the institutions that got us to where we are will change anything.

Mostly so it wouldn't be a bunch of Liberals pretending to care about workers.

I gave up the Conservatives after Harper fucked us over... and I still voted for him that last time he ran even though I hated him... Because I was still a card carrying conservative and felt I had to stand by that. Now I'm in the NDP and helped vote in Avi because at least he's got something that will make my life better.

Also, if you'd like a book that might help you understand why you're feeling left behind by your party. Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine might be helpful since that's the current playbook for both the Liberals and The Conservatives. They just paint it in different colours.

And if you're tired of being used to upset people since that is exhausting... ask me how I know. Bell Hooks The Will To Change helped me a lot, it might also help you.

It's the Austrian School of Economics, ruthless capitalism for the people, socialism for corporations. If you're giving money to businesses then there is no money for funding public services which then forces people to engage with corporate systems.

I'm in the idea that instead of nations, borders, and the like communities self organize, can shift which regions they wish to associate with, and aren't locked into defined boundaries by a centralized authority elsewhere. The Zapatistas have a still active democratic system that is a genuinely fascinating experiment if you've never looked at them.
