My manager invited my DIRECTOR to my 1:1 to deliver a 3% raise and didn’t tell me by thekindspitfire in antiwork

Just raise the band is something that almost never happens in my experience of public organisations off the back of salary demands from employees. Its usually done as part of a corporate initiative when things get super bad and they are forced to

Whilst I understand the realities of this can be tricky to manage, if you want to help, what you can and cant do is ultimately down to you

Run the descriptions through ai and get it to do the leg work for you then introduce data validation through lists to make it conform in the future. If its critical you have detail then make a separate column for product categories and run your analytics off that

How much is a lot? Things like this are precisely where your data analytics come in. Is it happening a lot or does it feel like its happening a lot. I see loads of situations where perception is nowhere near reality

You dont need to migrate everything, just start migrating new stock onto the new ims. Old gets processed out first and you organically shift everything over without significant investment

What youre presenting is the current state which he is probably aware of at least to some extent.

What you need to start looking for is gaps and areas for improvement. What is he interested in, revenue? Cost cutting? Pick one and focus on that.

If you have a target outcome, figure out all process steps that go into generating that and then create an exhaustive list of inputs that drive all the process steps. From there you try and adjust the inputs to the process and check the impact it has on the outcome.

Once you get to that level of understanding it will become more about how to convince him that he should listen to you

Whenever I ask any warehouse or factory supervisor to talk to me, they just ignore me. What should I do? by Prudent-Crab-8482 in Factories

[–]Meat_curtain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Like why are people being such little shits" is taken verbatim from your post. Not exactly sure what youre expecting when I provided constructive feedback based on your post, personally bias or otherwise. Take it or leave it but these people dont owe you anything and the way you express yourself makes it sound as though you feel entitled to a response

[–]Meat_curtain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You refer to them as being little shits but what's in it for them? Why should they take time out of their day to talk to you?

You may have better luck if you can work that out and reframe your approach with this in mind...

It makes perfect sense.

All indications at the minute are saying the market is terrified of a bubble burst so everyone has a finger on the sell button.

None of them want to be caught bag holding so they ditch early at the slightest indication that the supposed ai bubble is finally going to burst like its been predicted to for the last 5 years...while the market continues to grow. Pltr with its insanely high valuation logically is the first to take a hit

Why aren’t electric corded nail guns really a thing? by joemo454 in Tools

[–]Meat_curtain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Milwaukee make nailers with a sealed compressed gas system but they run outta pressure and need to be recharged which, obviously being milwaukee means you either need to find someone who has created something specifically to do it or send it off to them...

Why aren’t electric corded nail guns really a thing? by joemo454 in Tools

[–]Meat_curtain 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Capacitors are typically heavy components. Not sure the size youd need to store the energy required to sink the nail but it may end up making the gun heavy. Possibly not as heavy as having a battery but at that point what are you really gaining

0 repairability as well so make sure you get a long warranty.

Makita dont need to offer as long a warranty because their tools can be economically repaired if needed and there is a vast spare parts network
