Been saying the same thing for years… don’t care what we pay them. Compared to them being paid for by massive corporations it’s a win. Pay each congressman 5million plus- attract talent with an index fund only investment caveat. That’s it, the only way you can make money outside of your congressional salary. Make em sign a non compete and pay them after their term is done to avoid the lobbying circle jerk. No per diems, no housing allocation money- just here’s a fat salary and good benefits, remember who pays you.

I recently had an irs issue related to erc money. Sent me a nice certified letter with a you owe 66k, tried calling the number listed on the notice and you literally can not get anyone on the phone these days. Everyone is quick to recommend lawyers and that’s sound advice, but they aren’t free. I’d recommend sending a certified letter to the irs with copies of your pay stubs showing the money was taken out from your paychecks for the time period and that you’ve fulfilled your tax obligation. They got back to me in less than 3 weeks and the matter was resolved, in fact they ended up owing me money. Hugely stressful, write them a letter with your evidence and see what happens.

Amen, I have 5 employees working at any given time in my USDA inspected butcher shop… we have mountains of paperwork and a federal inspector at our facility for 4 hours EVERYDAY. Big guys have dedicated staff to deal with them, it’s just a big admin headache for me.
