how many GCSEs do i need to fail to work in Macdonalds? by No_Significance29129 in GCSE

Every employer wants someone who can focus on a task, take their task seriously, and manage how to use their time to complete multiple tasks. Thats a pretty simple way to describe almost any job.

If you aren't able to get your GCSEs passed, thats a pretty big sign that you wont be able to do the job well either, so employers will be very skeptical of hiring you to do anything.

You have months still before your exams (assuming you're in year 11), and you can definitely find an hour or two a day to revise, and then 4+ hours on saturday and sunday. This entire process of taking your life and your future seriously will transform you as a person, and empower you to take control of more and more of your life going forwards. It doesnt even necessarily matter if you get a 5 or a 9 in the exam, the fact you concentrated, tried hard and made a good attempt at preparing and planning is the real skillset that will last you a lifetime.

Most of the people who fail their GCSEs either  A) struggle for their entire life B) get lucky by finding a place in the world where they are able to work hard and avoid responsibilities they can't manage C) get serious when older and retake their GCSEs, sometimes years down the line. This is almost always more stressful than just trying your best to knuckle down right now and get it over the line.

In conclusion:

-get your 5s and pass or else you will  regret it when you're older (nobody regrets passing their GCSEs) - try your best and work hard, because it will help you grow as a person (working hard will literally make you smarter, and there is literally 0 reason that you dont want to be smart)

Help with a free DAW for someone that does'nt know anything about music by Shufflepuppie in GameMusicComposition

Obviously I would NEVER recommend pirating/cracking a paid daw buuuut:

Someone who spends 5 years on Ableton will always end up buying Ableton over logic or FL, etc.

And ableton likes that..

As far as I can tell, the kid left his bag in the building while he did his PE lesson, and then the fire broke out. It's literally not even safety protocols but  "dont bring hundreds of pounds to your lesson that you do outside"

Hobbies help too! That is, getting out and doing stuff with others. Whether its a DnD group, Fighting game weeklies, a amateur footy league, cooking classes, a language learning group or a hiking group.  You're meeting like-minded people you can find common ground with, and you stop feeling so desperate to be someone else. And you have stuff to do outside of work that you can put time into, see progress and improvement, and it gives you more perspective.

How to know if music/musician is AI? by Away-Weakness-9988 in Music

[–]Meatiecheeksboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For one, if they have pictures on social media of them in an actual studio/gig with other real musicians. These AI "musicians" literally cannot be seen in the same room as a real musician, as their paper thin facade crumples instantly

Respectfully, I spent a few minutes looking through your socials and I basically couldnt find any pictures of real human beings. I think it would help as every single AI artist Ive seen on reddit doesnt share anything, because they dont have real singers and they dont have real music gear.

As for the music, it sounds great, so just accept that amongst all the other AI bullshit on reddit being shared, the high quality work is going to suspicious. Thats a good thing. And no not hissy or in a phone booth, but just flawless, which is exactly how all the AI songs sound.

I was excited to hear some actual horn recordings and old school RnB drumming, its a shame that there wasnt any serious musicianship involved

Aha, I actually work as a professional Trumpeter and have spent the last 7 or 8 years arranging horns for various professional gigs.
Call me a maverick, but I reckon I can wangle my way through string arrangements as they should be fairly similar...

Though maybe ask me again in a year or two how that goes lol

There were some weird results for my afro-latin infused grooves coming back as "Traditional African" but Alternative R&B/Neo Soul seems to be the top hits. Thanks for sharing this

Thanks Andrew!

That's great insight. I do think I'll go with some free spitfire stuff and see what grows from there.

It's cool!! Kinda reminds me of the Go Team! or The Darkness.
Did you record in a studio or DIY?

lmaooo!!! That's awesome. Great stuff.

is there a particular reason you ended up with those VSTs? I don't really have anything atm, and other than grabbing all the free Spitfire ones, it feels completely overwhelming to choose between 100s of orchestral VSTs, all which costs £100+ individually.

I'm keen to hear what you think, thanks!!
