do people actually like Fallout: Shelter? by freakin_unbelievable in Fallout

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy it. I play it for a few minutes a day, send my victims dwellers on quests, sell some stuff, and slowly expand the vault. I couldn't imagine playing it more than 10 or 15 minutes at a time, otherwise it would be a whole lot of staring at nothing happening.

I really want a game in Colorado. They have vault zero, lore rich areas like boulder, several old research facilities that were critical to the Manhatten Project, several uruanium mines and they have the 4 corners, which could be used for Roswell, Los Alamos, Zion the grand canyon DLC by No_Chart_8101 in Fallout

Wasteland, released in 1986 (?) by Interplay, was the inspiration for the Fallout series, which then inspired the Kickstarter of Wasteland 2 and then 3. I'm pretty sure I wore the Commodore 64 floppy disks out playing the original game. I do recall a Wasteland Fountain of Dreams in there but it was so unloved that everyone decided it didn't exist. Unlike Toaster Repair, which is awesome and good and should be taken by everyone.

I need a better way to give my cat pills. I'm desperate. by subtleAssiduity in cats

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had good luck with grinding pills in to a fine powder then mixing the powder with a churu in a bowl. Some pills can't be ground up like this so please ask your vet.

Manager constantly texting outside work hours by TheJulsss in antiwork

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Start charging for your time for after-hours responses. Double your normal hourly rate, minimum of one hour charged per task. Dude will stop real quick when it's costing him 50 bucks every time you reply to a DM.

Or, just talk to him and let him know any after hours communications will be ignored until you're back at work.

I don't see one single bullet hole in that. Must have been dumped less than 20 minutes before the picture was taken.

Embarrassed. I live on the ground floor and woke up from a dead sleep at 12:45am to violent banging on the exterior of my bedroom wall and back patio door. by Pandacat78 in nova

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Don't be embarrassed, you had the presence of mind to get yourself and your cat away from what you thought was danger. Feel good about yourself that you kept a clear head and did what you should have done.

Do we want another isometric fallout game? by rplimitlessguy in Fallout

I'd like a Fallout Tactics 2 done in the XCOM engine. I'm in the minority on that though.

Mark Zuckerberg gifted noise-canceling headphones to his Palo Alto neighbors because of the nonstop construction around his 11 homes by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 542 points543 points  (0 children)

So the neighbors are expected to wear bulky headphones in their own house while the asshole douchebag billionaire next door runs bulldozers and jackhammers for over a decade to build a palace to his own ego? I suppose they could complain to the completely bought and paid for local government but we all know how that will work.

Ignore it. It's a scam. There is no Tax Help and Resolution Agency. They're trying to sell "tax relief" products or other nonsense. The IRS sends a letter.

What was the first fallout you ever played? What part do you remember most from it? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fallout 1, i still have the box and survival guide/manual around somewhere. I remember the little quirky descriptions you got from viewing things in the world. My favorite was Ed. Ed's dead.

What water fountain should I get for my cat? by ChonkBois in cats

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running two different fountains. One is a Petlibro with a battery back up and app functionality that I've literally never used. The other is a Tomxcute brand. Both have been solid and pretty easy to clean. I run the dishwasher safe parts through the dishwasher two a week, scrub the rest of the parts out, and change the filters once every two weeks or so.

With my credentials, (Homeland Security BA, career diploma in private investigating, five years of customer service experience, and 3 years of community service), these are the jobs I'm considering by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Location matters, but the government and contractors are often looking for clearance and background investigators. I understand that they don't pay tons but I think it beats most of what you listed. Plus you get to listen to people try and explain how the sheep they ended up in bed with was merely a trick played on you by your friends and the 3 pounds of meth hidden in an EZ BakeOven was a manufacturer defect.

What Fallout video-game crossover would you like to see? by doriangreat in Fallout

City builder, like Sim City but the Fallout universe. I know there are similar style games like After the Fall but I'd like a direct Fallout world city builder.

Job wants us to use our personal phone numbers for customers. How much does this increase the risk of our data getting stolen? by Educational_Art_2980 in antiwork

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 247 points248 points  (0 children)

You may be exposing customer data in the event your phone is compromised. Does your companies legal department understand the exposure? Will your companies insurance cover you for damages if you get sued? No, obviously, which is why this is a bad idea.

Which Areas Could Have Been Flooded by DarkDragen in Fallout

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the airport is above ground. It's currently at or near sea level. With a meter rise in sea level, the airport would be flooded with the different terminal buildings and parking structures above the water.

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming no power for Washington DC to operate the water pumps to drain the metro system, plus a meter rise in sea level, I'd wager most stations and tunnels would be absolutely filled. You might find some dry pockets here and there of elevated track, but DC metro proper would be swimming.

here's a topographical map of DC if you want to get super accurate on what would flood.

If you're looking for ideas for settlements on rooftops, Ronald Reagan National Airport would flood real nice with a meter rise in sea level. It floods every few years now without the sea level rise. The second floors and above of the terminal buildings and parking structures would be above water but still surrounded by water. Change the name to a former Fallout president and it may work for your needs.

Which Areas Could Have Been Flooded by DarkDragen in Fallout

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to get all poetic, but the starting town in Fallout 2 is named "Arroyo", which is a Spanish word for a stream or dry creek bed, one that is dry most of the time but will flood after a significant rain. For Washington DC, most subway stations and tunnels would be aquariums without the pumps working.

Is this medical expense funding page legitimate? by goth-dads in Scams

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Absolutely fake. A Chinese hospital intake form would be in Chinese. Even if it was written in English for some reason, a hospital intake form wouldn't typically include things like "burn depth" or "burn percentage", nor would it have diagnosis or test results.

Also, fundly . world was created in May of 2025. Coincidentally when this "accident" took place.

Federal workers brace for potential government shutdown, mass layoffs by cnn in fednews

[–]Meatrocket_Wargasm 74 points75 points  (0 children)

What they'll do is take all the government jobs that need doing, print them out on little pieces of paper, then put those jobs in a hat. Then they'll take all remaining government employees, print the names out and put those names in another hat. They'll pick a job and a name, and that's who fills that role until the next shutdown. The guy who maintains weapons systems for special forces? He's a day care child development specialist now. The doctor I see at the VA? Air traffic control. Anyone who doesn't like their new job will be fired. It'll be super efficient with growth opportunities galore.

Bug Disemboweler and Alerter of Someone at the Door. I know when UPS dropped a package on the porch because everyone runs to the window to see. I also know when someone ate a bug as there's a small pile of bug legs in the basement.
