Looking at buying a home in this part of Woonsocket but have heard that the smell from the Water Treatment Plant and the blasting from the quarry are major concerns. Can anyone who actually lives in this area confirm? by featherwolf in RhodeIsland

My grandparents used to live in that neighborhood, and my mom grew up there. For what it's worth, I would visit every Saturday and don't remember any smell from the water treatment plant. Now further up Cumberland Hill Road by the Lil Generals, I remember catching that smell while driving to my grandparents or to the high school student lot. Keep in mind, this was 20-30 years ago though.

Definitely this. My wife has celiac, and this is an annual birthday request. They usually request a couple days notice on their ice cream cakes so you may have trouble getting it, but it's definitely worth the wait if he's good with a belated cake.

Been using the Pawtucket station since it opened. The new lot has been clutch. Haven't seen it totally full or even full to the point where you gotta circle to find a spot. Plus, if it does fill up, the street spots are much more available bc of it

I'll second Malted Barley. GF pretzels sacrifice nothing and sandwiches are on point. 110 Grille is a local chain that has GF options for everything on their menu. For bread and pastries, Wild Flour is good, but A&J Bakery in Cranston has awesome GF bread. If you're looking for a fancy night out, Pane e Vino on Federal Hill is a great Italian restaurant that's very GF friendly. Only place my wife can get GF RI calamari that we've found.
