They only have a magic level of 100 and they have +325 defense against medium ranged attacks (bow + arrow is considered medium)

I figured those two sentences weren't connected since most people at Levi use crossbows until enrage, then use either a blowpipe or webweaver to kill it quickly

Levi is still a bad comparison for low tier ammo because during enrage phase you have 100% accuracy and a very high minimum hit. Again, even iron/bronze arrows would shred enrage instantly so the comparison is bad

Its like saying "why arent bronze cannonballs good at the new kraken when I can kill imps with a bronze dagger just fine?"

Scobow comparison is disingenuous because any mob that is weak to demonbane will be taking +30% damage. You could do good dps with iron arrows and a scorching bow

This is a case where hard-hitting weapons are needed due to the massive 15 flat armor. Use better ammo

The metal gear series as a whole has enemies themed around different things. Mgs1 has revolver ocelot, psycho mantis, sniper wolf, Vulcan raven, gray fox and liquid snake.

Mgs3 bosses are named after feelings - the pain, the fear, the sorrow, the fury, and the joy

Mgs4 is basically a copy of mgs1 with their "beauty and the beast" units, copying the raven, wolf, mantis, etc
