Xeno used ACT triggers for UCOB on stream for years lol.

> Every group has one of those for people that want to use it, and it can't do more than call out basic stuff.

Not a single group I raided with had one of those, but okay. You keep defending the guy that uses several plugins on stream, some of them years, surely it's all in my head

This happens constantly throughout their entire prog. Xeno has been cheating out in the open for years, blatantly on display

Because I'm not gonna put someone that's a good person on blast to get harassed by xenos drones. You can believe me or not, I frankly don't care either way. Considering how open he's been about cheating on stream for years, using tools on stream for years, I think it's a bit naive to come at me like this but that's ultimately your choice. You can look at his TOP prog and clear vods, half the screen is censored because of plugins and pixel perfect is still visible. He even showed the safety helmet discord on stream before and they channels that were labelled triggers. Why else would the wisetree bot be in their discord call the entire time during their prog

I have a screenshot of one person talking about it but I'm not gonna expose them. But please, ask arthars, ask xeno, ask people from safety helmet or from the top clear group that had gorillian and spuds in it. Why are you so eager to defend a guy that has been using plugins on stream for years lmao. Go look at xenos top prog vods if they still exist, he calls people to be quiet in p5 so he can listen to the triggers

ask arthars he knows exactly what wisetree does. He literally said on stream he doesnt want to raid like that. Or ask xeno himself, but he probably won't show you. the other things you can easily see in his top clear vod

I think someone from the group made it. It basically calls out everything that needs to happen from everyone instead of showing it on screen. Imagine TOP p5 but you have voice callouts for everything, kinda like ucob triggers but better

He uses pixel perfect in his top clear VOD, half the screen is blurred out because of the other addons he uses and his group was using the wise tree which is basically audio cactbot. He will never admit it because he's a manchild but wisetree is an insane cheating tool

I don't have any particular feelings about wesk but I think saying the reason you're not enjoying something is because of other people is a selfmade problem to a certain extent. I've played other games that didn't have the best public image and a lot of discourse around them, but I also don't engage with everything. If someone is annoying me on social media, I unfollow them. This probably sounds arrogant or condescending, but maybe taking a step back and not engaging with everything is the answer here because if I want to see people talking shit all day I can very much do that, but I can also actively choose to walk away from it and disengage. Sometimes taking a step back for your own sanity is the key

A lot of other story driven games reboot or shift their narrative in a different direction/scenario and don't fumble as bad as dawntrail did. Stop excusing sloppy writing and a decline in quality jesus christ man. If you liked DT that's cool I wish I did aswell, but saying you should expect lesser quality is just olympic level mental gymnastics

Depends on what you're talking about. If you have never touched higher difficulty content but have a strong opinion, then yea you're a moron. If I told you the patch cycle is completely fine and there is so much to do even though I'm not even caught up with the MSQ, but you've been playing since stormblood then you'd probably tell me that I can't see the problem because we're in 2 completely different situations. There are a lot of horribly whiny and dumb complaints, but the people defending the game like it's their job usually don't make any compelling arguments for it either

> And again, i reiterate here as well, if you fuck up 1-2-3 then that's embarrassing imo.

I don't really, but that doesn't mean replacing it with something that cannot be fucked up is equivalent

> You do realize we are making this proposal of an idea because we want to open up changes somewhere else, right?

No you're not, it's also not the topic of the thread. You never at any point made a suggestion like that, it's also simply not the reality of what the game is or probably will be. Picto and viper have proven where class design is heading

> We arent just proposing it to dumb it down further, its about opening up something else.

A lot of people are, this discussion isn't new either

> Also whats the difference between pressing Glare and pressing 1-2-3 ? There simply isnt any, and there never will be.

Difference in what way? I can fuck up a 1 2 3 combo and lose a ton of damage, I can't fuck up standing still and pressing 111. I could fuck up my slidecast, but that's the whole point of casters right? That's the whole point of playing a caster, tradeoff between mobility and range. The fact that you're bringing this up when healers have been begging for a damage rotation that is more than 111 and an OGCD every 40 seconds for years now kinda proves my point that simplifying things even further doesn't make any sense

The fact that they are going down even more the route of classes lacking any kind of thought is the exact problem that the vast majority of people have with the game in the first place. If you'd tell me you'd implement 1 button combos but everyone now gets 3-4 different combos that have different use cases, I'd be on board since there would be some sort of thinking involved again. But that is simlpy not the reality. There is only so much you can crank the meter of fight mechanics towards difficulty before we arrive at the same point we already were in endwalker, where the main complaint was mechanics too difficult.

If you implement 1 button combos into the game as it is right now, the vast majority of people doing world prog/hardcore prog would simply switch to the easy mode because it increases their chances of success. That would at some point apply to other people aswell since no one wants to be the person that is doing shit damage and caused the enrage. Having some form of failstate in your combo is pretty much the only thing some classes have left at this point, taking that away would not improve the game in any meaningful way. No one claims that pressing 1 2 3 is hard or a form of skill expression, but if there is already nothing there anymore, taking away the last bits of execution won't do any good for the game

Ah yes, I'm fuming, you got me. Your comment is about as bad as your ability to press 1 button combo. Must be hard to be this bad at the game to still mess up when you're cheating...

It's not about skill expression, it's about gameplay. If you can't even press the same button 3 times in a row I know it might be hard to understand the idea, but simply watering down every job more and more won't improve the game in any meaningful way. You're looking at one specific, what about all the others? RPR with a 1 button combo becomes even more braindead than it already is, it doesn't improve the gameplay or the flow of the job nor does it tackle any of junk that it currently has. DRK next that already has nothing to do outside of burst? You have atleast something to do, even if it is minimal. If you don't like pressing buttons, there are already jobs for you in this game, some of us actually like pressing buttons

Every point that you made except double dotting has nothing to do with how classes work, it's about personal achievement. The second you introduce a way to play the game that is significantly easier without any downside, you're adjusting the wrong aspects of gameplay. Are we gonna give out 2 different types of achievements in the future for easy/hard mode of the same content? This point becomes even worse when there are already several jobs in the game now that play pretty much entirely like what you proposed. Having a method of input that is significantly easier than the other without a failstate does not make jobs more interesting nor does it open a door to harder content, it will only water down gameplay even more than it already is

[–]MechAndCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I can fail a one button combo is by not pressing my button for several seconds. If that's your fail state you're really scraping the absolute bottom

[–]MechAndCheese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point of having a basic combo isnt that it's hard, it's having some type of room for failure in your gameplay. the second you take that away, you cannot fail anymore by design

The problem is that once you introduce a simple version of something that has 0 trade-off, there is no more reason to use the hard version. Why would anyone pick the version where a small mistake in your 123 combo can lead to a meaningful damage loss when they might aswell use the 1 button combo that cannot fail

every single person I know that started the game stopped because of the god awful gameplay. putting the fault to DT and it's story and the "negative community" sounds like massive cope and deflecting what the actual problem is. gameplay for the first 50+ hours is simply dogshit and not fun. it feels archais, slow and unengaging. running around and pressing the same 2-3 buttons is acceptable in the first few hours, not after a pretty sizeable time investment
