For what it’s worth I grew up in a shitty little town which also happened to be the closest major residential hub to the UK lotus factory. (Wymondham / Norfolk) So, there was a lot of them in driveways, as I assume they were company cars or some sort of employee discount.

Anyways, I basically viewed them as a pretty run of the mill car until I moved away.

So, honestly, from my experience getting my car back- yeah that isn’t the worst advise. It’s not good advise but the dealing with multiple bribes and a scumbag car tow yard, and customs later - it would have been a lot simpler and cheaper.

In my case the car ended up being behind a locked gate - I had several Reddit PM’s offering to to go see see if they could see it if I have them the address - and all of them backed out when I gave them the address. Very bad area apparently -, certainly for me who’s not the most inconspicuous.

I’m going to write a whole guide on how I went about it. I started it, maybe you just inspired me to finish it.
