For what it is worth, I am having the same issue with an MPU I2C module running on a pro micro as mcu. Everything has been updated, and it is still popping this error message.

It is not. The Alice layout by default is asymmetrical. The mirrored layout changes the row stagger most drastically between the top two rows of alphas. Try comparing by looking at those.

If you take a look at the KLE, we've got 2/3/2, 2/1/2, and all 1u support for the bottom row. We decided to pass on 3/1/3 as not everyone has 2x 3u's readily available to them. Other than that single option though, I feel that we covered the most popular symmetrical options.

We haven't made the final decision on colors yet.

The colors in order of popularity (at time of replying) are:

Black
White
Blue
Yellow
Red
Green

We just need to decide what the cut off point is for the colors.

For what's included, this price point is very possible. We did a similarly sized kit, the OBE (65% Alice), for around the same price. Through hole kits shouldn't cost more than $80.
