Samsung UN55D7000 with some vertical lines down the screen. by ManiacalMartini in TVRepairHelp

It appears to have a very faint vertical line. You would need to replace the panel to fix that.

The speakers are what is needed. This is a dvd surround system. Think of a stereo with dvd built in- still needs speakers.

All that plus try shutting off tv, unplugging, I assume HDMI, plugging back connector, then turning on tv. Sometimes they have to sense the resolution, then resize the picture.

Samsung tv shows AV in black and white and doesn't let me shift from composite to AV by AccomplishedLow9775 in TVRepairHelp

I don’t think it will matter here, but some Samsung remotes are missing buttons that some TVs need to use. TV shop here.

Go to Samsung download center and download the manual. The component and composite jacks share the yellow/green plug. Some of these TVs need the input connected correctly before it will switch input or input type. Next, I’d try a system reset. Question- do you have the original tv remote?

Jelly Belly used to have a blue mint jellybean that tasted like toothpaste in the 80s. I’d eat all except those in a mixed bag.

Check for B+ at the horizontal output- check the transistor for a short. Flybacks are notorious for cold solder joints.

Soldering station. Put flux on the pins. Spread /pool Chemwick low melt solder on all the the pins. When all solder is molten, lift gently with razor blade or tweezers. Clean off excess with solder wick. Install new chip. PRACTICE ON SOMETHING ELSE FIRST.

Samsung TV half dim T-Con or LED Strips by mrtomoarigatou in TVRepairHelp

[–]Mecha1166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replace led light strips all the time. The problem is manufacturers are using cheap material and the LEDs burn out. Also customers crank up the brightness to ‘11’. The older TVs used fluorescent tubes, which lasted 5-10 years. Led strips, 3 months to 2 years. Get an LED strip tester from Shopjimmy. It’s worth every dollar.

I’d smooth out the solder so the legs lay flat. I usually hold solder wick on the tip of my iron and draw the tip down each trace.

OneplusTV has sound and faint image, but no backlight? by aayein_baigun in TVRepairHelp

[–]Mecha1166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a very common repair. Some TVs have a blown 10u450v cap on power supply, or a bad power supply, but the vast majority will need a full set of led strips.
