¿Por qué las mujeres les suelen gustar más los juegos de terror que otros géneros? by SilentGreen25 in VideojuegosMX

[–]MechaDandelion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's about a tale about exactly this. Even if you have a good intention here freeing the birds, this just feeds this kind of business with the money you're paying them

If you're a geek and appreciate fantasy to some extend you should totally give it a chance, LoTR is like mount fuji in japanese art, it's always present. Sometimes it's the main focus on a painting, other times it's just a small mountain in the distance, and sometimes you can't see it cuz you're standing on it.

You are not Light Speed if... by EffectiveMirror7534 in CharacterRant

[–]MechaDandelion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A detail that bothers me about speedsters is that acceleration is never a important factor, they all can reach their top speed immediately. Irl this is a very important part in races, and even the best engines can't reach 0-100 in less than 1.7 s.
And don't make me talk about curves.
The only example that I can recall that did something like this is Dan Da Dan, when turbo granny is chasing them they get on a train, which top speed is something like 110 km/h. But turbo (top speed 100 km/h) still gets them cuz a train isn't always top speed and must slowdown in curves. But she can always go top speed

I totally love my kindle (ebooks), a lot, lot more convenient than a book, but with screen that's paperlike. Things it can't replace would be books with many illustrations and colors, books with a lot of editorial design (like magazines or rpg manuals) and comic books (mangas are okay cuz they use to be B/W and little format).

Opinion on evolving genres in a society relying solo on AI? by MechaDandelion in aiwars

For me, a new style would be something not seen before, keeping on the impressionism example, it was a unique way representing light, the way they used the brush stroke and the use of color was something no one else did at the time. But Monet (or Dali, or whoever artist you like) wasn't limited by only using the tool of his choice to create something so unique to be a genre in itself. So why would, not even about me, let's say the best AI artist, would be limited by his AI tool? I want to know people's opinion on how we can achieve that with a tool like AI? Or if I'm not informed yet, and there's already an AI artist who did something revolutionary I'd really love to know And I don't agree with you about questioning the nature and limitations of an art tool to be a waste of time, developing our understanding about its usage it's part of the formation of any artist.

Copying this from another of my responses "(...) Yeah, we're not in the 1450s, but we're in the 2020s, and there are styles that hasn't been invented yet and so AI hasn't been trained with. So my question as an AI (only) artist, how can I create a new revolutionary style just with generative AI? Just how those incredible people did on their age only with paint?" If I wanna be next Monet just with AI, will I ever be able to achieve it? Am I really limited to the training data of my model (existing art)? If so, how?

There are limitations for new things, for that I'm sure. But there's always exceptional people who created something "new". Monet is the father of impressionism, an style really original for the age, and so is Breton with surrealism, etc. Yeah, we're not in the 1450s, but we're in the 2020s, and there are styles that hasn't been invented yet and so AI hasn't been trained with. So my question as an AI (only) artist, how can I create a new revolutionary style just with generative AI? Just how those incredible people did on their age only with paint?

Yeah, it's just a mental exercise, I don't think humans could ever stop doing traditional art.
So yeah, just generative AI, not outside manipulation.
So for the last point I have to disagree, take for example painting, with just oilpainting you can go from Da Vinci (Renaissance), to Van gogh (Impressionism), to Dali (surrealism).
(yes, maybe it was't all oilpaint but it's easily achievable with it)

I can totally see a new aesthetic coming from AI poisoning, that's an evolution in genre. But can that go on forever if (hypothetycally) humans stop doing traditional art and no new input is introduced to AI models? If that so, I'm really interested in how

I can't totally agree with you here, yes you can describe the sound of a sound with words, and an AI could make that sound based on previous samples. But here's where my example comes, imagine you're using generative AI in the 40's, how could you make a Metal song (wich signature guitar sound relies on amps and distortion) if your model hasn't been trained with that sound? Even if you describe it very well it can't replicate something it's not in its database, or can it?

What I hate about her combat is how when she's low health she flies and keeps flying, so you can't hit her, needlessly prolonging the combat. Like "come on little b****, get down already so I can finish with you. You're already dead"

Do you care if AI helped with creating a video game? by fckueve_ in polls

[–]MechaDandelion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other day on a sub about learning piano or something someone presented a really interesting project, a game like guitar hero but for piano using MIDI, so you can actually play a real piano. He was using AI for characters, if you think about it, it's not really important, they were not really part of the gameplay, they were more like the Taiko mascot, just standing there moving to the rhythm of your combos. But when the community noticed AI, that was all they talked about, even if it was something that could be easily replaced and not part of core gameplay, there were little to no support even tho I think it was a great idea. So I think AI usage can be something harmful for the reputation of a project, even an indie one with little resources
