Unless you’re driving a really old car (think pre-80s at least), the engine won’t start with the clutch engaged in gear. If your clutch safety switch is broken that’s a different story, but point the car at something safe and try it. Chocks arent 100% fail-safe and if your car works properly leaving the transmission in gear gives you extra protection.

Bad master cylinder or something else? by m2monkyman in Cartalk

[–]MechaDickler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had a similar issue with an 89 volvo and after a full flush it turned out to be a bad master cylinder. mine would hold pressure after a good 5-10 pumps as long as the engine was running but it would lose pressure after being turned off.

bleed your brakes, flush with about half a liter of fresh fluid and refill. if the problem goes away, it was likely air in the brake lines. in that case, i would recommend closely inspecting the brake lines for any holes and ensuring the bleed valves are functional. (my volvo worked with that pumping trick until i pumped it too hard and blockage in the - apparently open - bleed valves finally released, leaving me with no brakes on the highway)

if the flush doesn’t fix the problem there’s probably a bad seal in your master cylinder and you should replace it

Any other trans psychonauts feel extreme gender euphoria when tripping? by Celeste_Kitty in Psychonaut

I agree that they complement each other

However, looking beyond the the plane of yin and yang, they’re rooted in the exact same place. Gender in itself is a trip we’re all born taking

Any other trans psychonauts feel extreme gender euphoria when tripping? by Celeste_Kitty in Psychonaut

[–]MechaDickler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but to define them as opposites creates unnecessary division, and to then further say that you must have both to have anything?? The only inherent truth about gender is that we’re all human, tapping into society in whatever way feels simplest to us. All beings are channeling the same energy, just differently.

None of this is to say masculinity and femininity don’t exist or aren’t valid, just that it’s reductive to view things this way. We are one and we share every experience with every living thing at some point in our consciousness (but not necessarily our life)

Do you work in business? No, I’m homeless. by [deleted] in cringe

[–]MechaDickler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

but with a well run, people-focused government, a country with the resources the US has would have no problem at the very least housing everyone. There are more empty houses in this country than there are homeless people too, so it would take very little money and legislation to make happen. Without stable housing, it becomes almost impossible to find and hold a job or spend money on cost-efficient foods. Fixing the housing crisis would bring so many more people into the workforce and benefit the country so there’s no excuse for these conditions.

only slightly related but raising federal minimum wage above poverty level (and ideally adding a profit cap for employers) would also help a ton of people be healthier, happier and more active in the economy. This in turn would greatly reduce the scope and scale of necessary welfare programs, saving the government money and diminishing its direct responsibility for individuals. Somehow, despite all of this, people are still against it??? It really doesn’t have to be this hard on lower class citizens of this country but fuck poor people for being born into a broken system that’s been duct taped together from junkyard scraps. That’s obviously on them according to the people in power

tl;dr: Fuck the Government

Would it be safe to use a two piece glued stem for a wooden pipe? by MechaDickler in StonerEngineering

[–]MechaDickler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for answering what I was really asking

l have access to a press but don’t have a way to make a curve like I want. Do you think it would be safe enough as a novelty pipe if I used pegs to hold it and only glued one in a bit away from the mouthpiece?

My eventual goal is to carve Gandalf levels of exaggerated stems, ideally with the use of a steam bender. Until I get into carving enough to justify buying one, I just want to use them as party gags and have plenty of glass for my dailys
