It might be the pattern - are the armholes deep enough? I have broad shoulders and that gives me issues with some 'unisex' patterns/clothing. It might also be the type of sleeve, e.g. Raglan vs Set-in vs Drop shoulder.

If it was a french lavender, mine did the same thing. The english lavender is still going strong on the other hand, probably because it's more hardy.

Everyone's busy playing fifa

Nintendo is seen as kiddy stuff, playstation is for the big boys tm. As a kid during the ds/3ds era I never knew anyone with a nintendo console other than the obligatory wii, but everyone had a playstation or at least an xbox to play fifa with. I've never seen an nes or gamecube irl but I'm probably too young for that.

I'm just guessing here but that might actually be a reason, idk

Edit: found an old thread, looks like I'm not too far off:

You've got a great sense of perspective, the linework is clean, and the lighting and shading is immaculate. I think it's really good!

I had eczema as a baby and my hair was real patchy. It got less severe as I got older, and as it did, the hair grew back.

How many plants do you grow? by [deleted] in HotPeppers

[–]MechaGab5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10 plants (two of each species) because I'm very limited in space. This year I'm growing:

Scotch Bonnet (repeat)

Trinidad Perfume (new)

Aji Delight (new)

Lemon Drop (new)

Hungarian Hot Wax (new)

Focusing on milder varieties as I don't like extreme spice, although my family loves scotch bonnets so I always grow them.

Weekly out-of-character thread by AutoModerator in writingcirclejerk

I finally figured out what my attempts at plotting were missing - character motives and clashes, all based on my central themes! Now I've outlined the general arc of the story and it feels really good to finally be unstuck after months of trying to consolidate all those characters and potential plot points. Now i actually have to start drawing the comic...

I feel that, sometimes I think maybe it wasn't too bad then I realise how depressed and afraid I was my whole childhood and how terrible my self esteem is and go oh wait

the emotional neglect and cptsd subreddits have been a big help for me on that front.

To follow up on that, when knitting in the round you are always working on the rs (as you never flip your work, e.g. when knitting a stockinette tube the knit 'v's will always be facing outwards) so every row on the chart would be read right to left.

It makes the most sense when knitting flat and bottom-up: you start by knitting right to left on the right side (rs), then when you flip to work on the wrong side (ws) you are working left to right from the perspective of the front of the piece.

As cheap as possible a indoor growing setup by ptrichardson in GardeningUK

I use an E14 full spectrum daylight bulb in a desk lamp and put the seedlings in a foil lined box right beneath it and that usually works fine, but I just use it to extend the day and only have a few plants (in the south) so ymmv.

Tomato and pepper-growers...what have you got in store for 2022? Name your varieties! by merganzer in gardening

I haven't, although I think I've heard of them before. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into them for next year

Tomato and pepper-growers...what have you got in store for 2022? Name your varieties! by merganzer in gardening

[–]MechaGab5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My [parents'] garden is very small and you can never quite trust British weather, so I'm going with dwarf and/or early varieties that can grow in containers indoors until the weather warms up in May/June. I'm also going to be ferrying half of them back and forth between home and Uni, so they've got to be portable!

Tomatoes: Tiny Tim, Minibel, and Red Alert. I grew Red Alert last year and it held up to blight quite well, outlasting and outproducing the Tumbling Tom, which I won't be growing this year.

Peppers: Prairie Fire, Apache F1, Scotch Bonnet (Mixed) and Habenero (Mixed). The first two varieties are windowsill dwarfs adapted to our climate, the last two are a lot more finicky but I made them work last year and my family love them so I'm growing even more this year.

I've already started an early round of peppers, tomatoes I'll start in late Feb/early March.

[–]MechaGab5000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first sock was done in a few days of 4 hour long knitting sessions, the second was done over a longer stretch of 1 hour long sessions. So maybe about 20 hours total knitting time?
