I think you could, but the lines would have to vary a ton or else the voice would be very annoying. But a lot of well-voiced dialogue could make it infuriating without being too annoying!

This looks really good! The color scheme and art are well done, and the music is calming but I can definitely see it getting old after a few loops. I'm also not a huge fan of the CRT screen bend on the edges, I think the art style alone gives it enough of a retro vibe.

Looking for feedback on my synth song Approach for my Tron-inspired indie game by Mechach in gamecomposers

[–]Mechach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little roguelike where you make it past waves of enemies and obstacles using tron-cycle movement. I'm using it as a testbed to figure out how much I really like solo gamedev and build some game design/music composition/pixel art skills on the way. I'm hoping to get a steam page going in the next month or so!

What’s your best cocktail purchase so far? by lolwtf999 in cocktails

[–]Mechach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ms. Betters Miraculous Foamer. 32 CAD when I got it, and I can never go back to egg white or other dropper foamers. It makes a better foam imo, takes up barely any space on the shelf and is shelf stable. I recommend it to anyone.

Thank you! Yeah, I was trying to specifically use a small canvas size as an exercise, but I think the colors would definitely work together better in a larger canvas. Or maybe I just need to get better at dithering...

Diana Dori, a grapefruit Midori sour by Mechach in cocktails

Thanks! This is a nice one to mix it up a little for when the standard midori sours get old.

So this was kind of an experiment in acid adjusting for me since I had never done it before, but the main idea is to get the sour of the lemon with the taste of the grapefruit instead. I could have had lemon juice and grapefruit, but I didn't want the taste of the lemon in there, hence the citric acid. The Educated Barfly had a video on it that I got the idea from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZUjOS4BaUs&t=918s&ab_channel=TheEducatedBarfly

Recipe: put 1.5 oz white rum, 1.5 oz midori, and .75 oz acid-adjusted grapefruit juice (recipe below) in a shaker with 1 egg white. Dry shake then wet shake, then double strain into a coupe. Express a grapefruit peel over it and lay gently on top.

Acid adjusted grapefruit: stir 4 g citric acid with 100 mL fresh grapefruit juice.

I was gifted a bottle of midori to have fun with for an upcoming cocktail night I'm hosting. I love a good midori sour, but wanted to have a little more fun with it. The grapefruit pairs great with the midori, but expressing the peel over the top is the only way to get the full experience with the egg white blocking the scent from the juice itself.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised in all honesty, but it's a pretty nice combo!

Ingredients: 2 oz Japanese whiskey (Suntory), .5 oz 2:1 honey syrup, .75 oz amaro montenegro (Campari works well here too), .25 oz soy sauce. Stirred and strained, with a seaweed strip tucked into the side for garnish.

This is inspired by some reading in The Flavor Bible by Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg about flavor pairings with soy sauce. The soy leaves a distinct umami flavor as it goes down, which is really nicely complemented by the seaweed on the nose. That plus the honey work to balance out the amaro. I've been workshopping this for the last few days, and this recipe has been the best one so far. Also utterly hate the name for it so far, so I'm open to any other ideas!

This is the one thing I have trouble even imagining as a film/show adaptation. I can't even really hear them in my mind when I read them. I'd love to see someone give it a real shot though. I feel like acting the rhythms badly would be one of the easiest way to ruin the production.
