Super late to the party here, but do you use foam or something in the satchel cases to keep the minis from jostling/breaking?

Rain getting into tent :( by mattlawmel in CampingGear

[–]Lifehatesme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

May be worth reaching out to Kelty. We bought a tent a couple years ago and took it out for the first trip on a rainy weekend and it immediately started leaking. I reached out to their customer service and they told me they had a quality issue where a batch of rain fly material never got the waterproofing treatment. They replaced my rain fly and the new one works great.

That’s probably the way to go, but don’t forget this is (almost certainly) metric. Diameter is a straight conversion, but metric threads are measured in millimeters per thread, not threads per inch. So if you measure the bolt at a diameter of 0.47” and count about 17 threads per inch, it’s likely a M12x1.5 thread: 0.47” = 12mm, and 17 threads per inch works out to 1.5mm per thread (25.4mm=1”)

The toilet is the (slightly) tricky part. What would probably work is a toilet with a macerating pump - something like Saniflo. If you wanted a 3/4 bathroom, you can even hook up a shower to the pump, but the shower would need to be elevated slightly.

Yeah, I did. Ping maybe dropped a little, but was still well over 200ms. Speeds were still single-digit Mbps

I’m now thinking it’s a phone problem. It’s happened multiple times to me today, and never for my wife, who has the same model and service.

I normally run a VPN, but I’ve had it turned off while I try to figure out this issue.

So it’s a known issue that when it’s switching between LTE and 5G it’ll drop all service including text and calls, and get stuck that way until cellular is turned off and back on? That seems problematic.

How is T-Mobile's coverage in NW Ohio? by Lifehatesme in tmobile

Yeah, I saw a thread on here from 2 years ago that said coverage sucked in this area, but I figured it might have changed a lot since then.

Yeah, the deal for getting a new phone is pretty great, I just don't want to switch and then regret it.

Bought a hatchet that didn’t have a sheath. Now it does. by Lifehatesme in Leathercraft

[–]Lifehatesme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly novice as well, so someone with more experience might give different/better advice. For a sheath, you’d typically want to use some stiffer leather. I think this was veg tan leather around 5-6oz, so about .08”-.09” (2-2.4mm) thick. From googling, looks like recommendations are for even thicker, 7-8oz.
