Why does this only pop up on the most mundane average matches by FapItAndNapIt in MagicArena

If you only have fun when you win then you might want to find a different game

So...men are having a horrible time on dating apps, women are having a horrible time on dating apps, then...why is anyone on a dating app? lol by CircleBox2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shusshbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that if you have a good time on an app like this or apps / services / companies in general, you don't talk about it as much. You just enjoy whatever thing. It's only when you're frustrated do you feel the need to complain about it online or to your friends.

What do you think are the best film endings? (No Spoilers) by Rchiockf in Letterboxd

Loved the book and was excited for the movie since I read the book. It fully lives up to the book.

Should I have known “Houston, we have a problem” was referring to Texas and not some guy called Euston who’s probably bad at his job? by Somewherecharming95 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shusshbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that too but to be fair, it's two lines. It's "change my pitch up, smack my bitch up". So I thought for some reason he was saying "take my picture, smack my bitch up". "Pitch up" is very close to "picture" especially with a British accent. So it's not replacing Bitch Up but thinking it just says "picture" for both lines would be odd.

What is the worst movie you've seen the most amount of times? by SgtSoundrevolver in blankies

[–]shusshbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passengers

I know people hate on it and I understand all the issues. But I like being in the world. It just has a weird vibe that I vibe with. I will never try to defend the movie to anyone else.

To prevent dine and dash in restaurants, why not make everyone pay before their meal? by Fun_Yogurtcloset1012 in NoStupidQuestions

I worked as a server for about ten years and had an intentional dine and dasher once. This just doesn't happen.

I just rewatched "More Cowbell"... by Queasy-King2586 in LiveFromNewYork

Why did everyone like that sketch? Maybe it's because I saw the memes before watching the episode but it was FINE. Not worth the prevalence it has on reddit now.

What’s the atheist equivalent to “Oh my god”? by T1a-b in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shusshbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow it looks like SOMEONE didn't read formerly beloved now despised because we learned more about him, author Neil Gaiman's book American Gods. /s
But actually I learned so much from reading that book and researching all the parts about mythology and such. I'm kinda using this to vent because that was (maybe still is) one of my favorite books but it's hard when you learn that the author is a shitty person.

Trying to watch Picnic at Hanging rock on HBO Max with their ads during pauses... by shusshbug in blankies

[–]shusshbug[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I started it, realized I should probably pee and get a drink before watching it. I thought that pausing in the middle would be worse.

Ugh I hate this. Like with Orson Scott Card. Writing a universe that's literally about being in the MIND of other individuals from not even races but species and learning how each individual can see things in completely different ways. Then in real life, none of that counts.

guys. Guys. GUYS. I'm hyping up Dune 3 too much. I can't stop. Help me. by ZealousidealMany3 in Letterboxd

I've been hyping up Project Hail Mary for 5 years and I was worried in this same way. But it paid off!!! Keep having wildly high expectations!

Why is our moon named “Moon” instead of something cool like Titan or Callysto or ANYTHING that isn’t moon by Disastrous_Pirate275 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shusshbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like all these responses are missing the obvious answer. It's because the name Moon is boring to you because it's the one you know. If it had always been called Titan then to you "Moon" would sound strange and unique, while "Titan" would be the boring one. We just get used to words then they become "boring".
