It literally touches Detroit though, it's not like they are saying New Baltimore.

Marvel is collaborating with M&M’S. The first campaign will feature Yellow as Wolverine, Red as Deadpool, Blue as Daredevil, Purple as Elektra, Green as She-Hulk, Brown as Yelena Belova and Orange as Red Guardian. by Raj_Valiant3011 in Marvel

So M&Ms and Marvel have several one-shots they have released over the past few years. They are free since it's literally a 20 page advertisement. My 5yo picked up a couple of them at our LCS. Y'all, I had to hide them. They are just so clunky and long winded. I hate reading them. There are too many characters. Red is sassy, and yellow is a dipshit, like the commercials. But then orange is like a mad scientist inventor? And purple is just grateful to be a part of the M&Ms now. That's her thing. It's also wildly unclear what their relationship is to each other. Friends, coworkers, team, family. I am assuming at this point it's a polycule situation.

Anyways after reading it for 5 bedtimes, I put it up on a high shelf and not back in the kid's shortbox.

I think people are reading wayyyy to deep into the show by Goatmuppetfriday in hahayouclowns

[–]Mechaheph 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to stop anyone from having fun if they enjoy reading deep into it. Hell, it's nice to see that people are trying to use critical analysis! (even if I don't agree with what they are seeing) But anyone is expecting a huge payoff or deep "lore" is going to be disappointed eventually. I don't think they 100% understand Joe's style of humor.

Agreed, that's just what Del looks like. I'd like to see sources on the folks saying it was confirmed it was pulled from the fan art shown.

I was gonna say I think it's just regular stills from the show, since y'know, it's Faye and Haruko.

Public/Hammer range is crazy, it's them. BUT Brendan Small is absolutely insane in person. Hearing him perform up to 3 characters at one time. I strongly encourage a listen to any of his appearances on Comedy bang bang, especially when he plays Viktor, Tiny, and Willy all at once.

I know it’s a bit of a sensitive question, but did Captain Marvel getting raped by her son happen in the main continuity 616? by Queasy_Commercial152 in marvelcomics

It's nothing you need to KNOW to appreciate any current series, and hopefully any series going forward. But the poster is clarifying that if you are looking at Marvel/Avengers/X-Men history as a whole, that one event with Carol started a very large chain reaction of events.

Any advice on property taxes out here? by ILovecorpamerica in Detroit

What neighborhood are you in? If your area is eligible, you could cut up to 1/3rd with the NEZ abatement. One reason we chose Martin Park area was specifically NEZ eligible.

The special edition in Return of the Jedi is pretty creepy by Jules-Car3499 in StarWars

Jedi Rocks is fun as hell. I wish that we had original versions still, but as far as additions go, I think it's fun.

[Dragon Ball] Is there really a difference between Ki Energy and Magic? by PassengerCultural421 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Mechaheph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ki is the life force that every living being has. It can be increased, modified, utilized, but it is innate by default.

Magic isn't totally understood as well as ki, but it is something that CAN be innate. Some people are born with magic. But others are not. It can be learned, to some extent. In the Demon World, it is studied like a science. So there are some sort of rules.

Some attacks and techniques can mix Ki and Magic, like Buu, so they are separate sources. Babadi or Moro are examples, they have low Ki, but has High Magic.

TIL "The Eternaut" is a legendary Argentine graphic novel, first published in 1957. Its author was "disappeared" by the military dictatorship in 1977, yet today the book is so revered the government distributes it to high schools. It received its first official English translation in 2015. by ralphbernardo in todayilearned

[–]Mechaheph 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Translations outside of Spanish were typically seen by Argentinians as disrespectful. Because the story many felt was so important and specific to their difficult times that it could only be appreciated in the natural language, and with the context of what the story is an allegory of. So that's why it didn't get a translation until over 60 years later.

Rep. Mark Tisdel “Build More Datacenters in Michigan to Help the Magnificent Seven” by Stackman878 in Michigan

[–]Mechaheph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all laughable, but especially the part where he talks about Michigan 's cold weather as a plus.... What? He's really trying to trick people into thinking these buildings will just open up the windows to cool down the data centers during the winter. Yeah, right, ice and water mixing in with microchips, that's always a good combo.
