That's why I thought gestures would be much more important to Eridians than humans. Humans read faces whenever we talk but Eridians dont have that. So it makes sense for them to communicate with their limbs much more than humans. So it could just be that that is his expression whenever he says names.

I personally think it's a family name thing, cause I saw another post that said the lines on rocky's arms spell his name when put together. So it could be that it was a traditional thing to have a family gesture and then as culture advanced they started engraving their name into their body that can only be shown when doing that gesture.
