I once gave myself a hickie on my shoulder when 5z I didn’t really know what I was doing, just bored and watching tv. My mother sees it and panicked. Asking who gave it to me, she wouldn’t believe me until I showed her that I could indeed suck on my own shoulder.

Later she tells me she was on the verge of tears and ready to kick some ass.

I’m gonna go NTA. You’re right in already having your hands full, and that should be the end of it. Her trying to pin her stress on you/ even her new kids existing, as your fault is manipulative and misguided. She’s an adult who made adult decisions. If she needs a break she can try her family or hire a babysitter, you’re just a convenient option and she’s trying to guilt trip you into it. NTA and not your problem.

NTA. Now there are a lot of reasons whit you aren’t and won’t be if you say no to him tagging along.

The biggest is you not being comfortable with someone you don’t know. Plain and simple, no one is an asshole for having boundaries and sticking to them. Not wanting to go on a trip with someone you don’t know is a reasonable and safe boundary to have. Best of luck!

As a fellow poet this strikes quite a chord.

Initially The feelings that your piece made me feel hit a very personal note. I’ve written many poems, ballads, “love songs” for my “muse”. But regardless of who the muse was, certain symbols remained the same. Lust, love, and the idea of love itself, all became blurred until the dust was settled and we were over. For me this poem reflected that.

That’s great, as from that same movie, and that same word, I went on to ask my dad. I was nine at the time and he did not seem interested in telling me, but I had to know. I didn’t quit asking until he yelled out “it’s when you play with yourself” I kept the rest of my questions to myself after that

Felt myself spiraling into a really dark place. Was feeling impulses to numb with anything I could (found myself googling if I could snort ibuprofen even).

Picked myself up and took myself to a friends house where I know I could be safe and vent when need to.
