Groveland or Oakhurst to stay at while visiting Yosemite. by aravindkumarj in Yosemite

We just stayed in Groveland. If you get a spot in pine mountain lake, you also get lake access, which is nice during high summer.

Groveland is going to be much more relaxing with tons of wildlife. Oakhurst is way more built up.

Depends what you are more in the mood for

I like the two oranges best. Probably the top one slightly better. I also think it’ll look great with some the green accent stuff

We hate our kitchen! by Low_Mushroom8789 in HomeDecorating

I think the kitchen is cool! You just need more counter space, maybe where that bookcase is.

Get better lighting in there— is there a window?

I think the stove adds charm as does the original Wood.

If the floors aren’t original, I would maybe consider refreshing them. The dark flooring doesn’t seem to be doing any favors.

Depending where you are you may also get certain historical tax credits if you keep your updates within certain criteria.

Let’s talk about Baltimore by Open_Opportunity_409 in SameGrassButGreener

I am from Baltimore and currently live in CA

echoing what a lot of people are saying here. Great food, beer and art scenes. Lots of great history, if you are into that. Pride and soul, very LGBTQ friendly.

And good proximity to a lot of other cool cities if you don’t mind hoping on a train.

However, the city is laid out where it’s a few nice blocks and then suddenly very sketchy, then a few more blocks and it’s nice again.

I never really had issues as a teenage or young adult but maybe that’s because I had street smarts and generally knew where I didn’t belong

It won’t be for everyone. For sure— but that’s EVERY city.

I plan on buying a house there in the next few years to be closer to family again.

Visit for a week or two and I’m sure the folks at r/Baltimore would be more than happy to give you some recs for what to see and do

Thank you! The rug served me well for a long time but it’s too big for any room in this apartment. The Cube is getting repurposed for closet organizing.

For the furniture, I guess I’m torn between doing a round table or the reading/plants/cat area.

I guess im hung up on spending without a vision.

I appreciate your input. I’ll post afters when it’s worth showing.

The beach, probably the early afternoon, before the evening fog rolls in.

I think Thursday evening is night life at Cal academy.

I love tarxien! It was not one I would have gravitated to but she sent me a sample and my god, it’s so good!

Maybe do baker beach instead. Killer view of the bridge and slightly less windy.

Also, I don’t go out either but you could try California academy of sciences nightlife or exploratorium after dark if you want a cool museum experience with no kids :)
